    • A Reuters photographer said he heard at least three pro-Trump rioters at the Capitol on Wednesday saying they wanted to find Vice President Mike Pence and execute him by hanging.
    ...
Trump vented on Twitter, saying the vice president lacked the “courage” to do what was necessary. The insurrectionists who later laid siege to the Capitol could be heard shouting “where’s Mike Pence,” a source close to the vice president told CNN on Thursday.

The source added that the president didn’t bother checking on Pence’s or his family’s safety after unleashing the mob on the Capitol.

If Pence believes this, He may not.
tRUMP put a target on Pence, by saying to his cult that Mike let them down.

I doubt the oval office is looking to take the words of any of those rioters seriously.
Why would he choose to believe this, as policy even?
I mean, look who said it.

It's about what comes out of Trump's mouth that's important here, not someone with a brick standing on their front lawn's - Pence would be a fool to even believe what any of those people said.

Trump may do it next week, he doesn't want to go down in History as a twice impeached President - resigning is Trump's only option

JEsus, how many times do you gotta impeach a president before they're out?
I thought once was enough, what happened?

I just heard the story break on the televised news I have on atm on the TV next to me.
Sky News just said (I flip from network to network) but Sky News in the UK just now told me that Pence will attend the inauguration.

So here's how I see that last day going down.

Trump hands over the presidency to Pence, Pence pardons Trump, goes off with nuclear football and presidency in hand to peacefully hand over to Biden - everybody wins.

He wouldn't have to wait til the final days. He could turn the power over to Pence today, get pardoned, and be POTUS again 30 minutes later.

I can't see trump handing the presidency over to Pence.

Trump wanted Pence to violate the constitution and he refused. Trump would never trust Pence to pardon him.

SCOTUS will overturn a self-pardon. Trump goes to federal prison. Everyone wins.

It would be more beneficial for the idiots in government to try and come after him for incitement since there is no evidence. It would be an opportunity for him to clear his name. Also, a pardon would do nothing for the lawsuits the democrats are pursuing in the states.

No, that's as absurd as him being impeached for nothing 10 days before he leaves office anyway.

Trump would rather take a chance and pardon himself. He wont give an inch, even to the destruction of himself. He would rather "stand strong" and maybe go to jail, than resign and rely on Pence to pardon him, and look weak.

And who says Pence even would now? Trump may have burned those bridges when he put Pence's life in danger trying to force him to assume constitutional powers that he simply doesn't have.

The raving ramblings or battle cry of a lunatic during a protest / coup for starters, there's that...

That is exactly why it should be taken seriously. People were shouting to hang Pence. Trump was calling senators during the riot (not protest) to get them to overturn the election.

I don't think Trump wants to go down as a resigned POTUS either - it will go against ALL of his messaging to this point.

I agree. He can continue to play the victim and claim everyone is against him if he is impeached. He can't keep playing that card if he resigns.

Trump has a guaranteed 'get-out-of-jail' card if Pence plays along.

In that scenario, Trump issues pardons for everybody he was going to pardon anyway, and then the next day he resigns. Pence takes over and pardons Trump. A 'Fait Accompli'... and it could be done and over with by this coming Wednesday.

The Democrats could scurry around like rats in a burning barn trying to impeach Trump and then get him removed from office, but considering that most of our wonderous elected officials can't do ANYTHING in less than a week, they might not have enough time for that.

My uneducated guess is that they'll settle for a scathing Congressional Rebuke, which can be done in one day, accompanied with hours of fiery, self-righteous diatribes that will make a good set-up for that evening's feel-good, hyperliberal circle-jerk.... After all, they can still make Trump's life an unending hell in various Democrat-dominated courts in places like New York, with one lawsuit after another....

Then, with all this crap swept away, the sun rises on January 20th, and at noon, in comes good ol' Joe, like Caesar entering Rome after conquering Gaul, and the liberal mobs will cheer his arrival until they become hoarse as they eagerly await his 'bread and circuses'.... 8)
