Just watched him make those comments on CNN. What a powerful speech. And totally spot on.

Things have gone seriously askew. Repetition of lies has affected a lot of people's thinking. Claiming that the Press is the enemy of the people...........was taken out of Hitlers's play book. Repeat a lie often enough.........and soon it takes on the veneer of truth. Trumps play book. IF Trump actually believes the lies he told , then he is seriously delusional. Fact checkers have accumulated volumes of his falsehoods.

He was impeached, and can be again.

This time the Senate would confirm it, and make it impossible for him to run for any office ever again.

If he can't be impeached, He should be censured.

I think only the Senate can do that, not sure enough good republicans left there to do it

Trump deserves it, just not sure republicans up to the task, Trump will be impeached a second time though

They are talking about completing the process after the 20th ,when Mich won't have the same power to nix it. ( & due to the time constraints)

Will they now? What makes you believe there are 17 Republican Senators that would be willing to commit political suicide? This fact should make a rational person engage in a little reflection.
Impeachment is a political tool that mimics a legal process. So, if we are to believe that this President has acted as a tyrant and has outraged the nation, why would he not easily be removed by a political process?
If the nation shares your passion, why would 17 Republicans have to lose their seats to vote the Bad Orange Menace out?

I don't want tRUMP to be able to run ever again, but, I think the R party deserves to have tRUMP be a viable option for 2024. They've earned the honor.

Let Schumer take it up and pursue it. All it will accomplish is to give the gas bags a podium for a few days. They'll vote, he will be acquitted AGAIN and the only people to be damaged by the circus will be the Republicans who do vote to convict him. My guess is that Schumer will do it only if he is compelled to.

Let Trump run 3rd party in 2024 and take votes away from GOP. They deserve after their treason to this country.

It's pointless if Senate doesn't uphold it. And they won't.

Ah, yes you are correct. It requires 2/3rds vote in Senate, which would make it more difficult. There are some Republicans who do not condone the violence, but I am not sure there are 17 with such back-bone.

I'm sure that's just what you'd say if it was a Democrat President inciting a mob to attack the Capitol building while they were certifying the election of his successor!

NO, it is not pointless. Just because the GOP has suborned itself to be Trump's personal faction, does not mean that the representatives in the House who actually believe in public accountability, cannot act in accord with their prerogative (and their duty) to officially call a rogue President to account! To not do so would be craven, to wilt in the face of an aspiring dictator - even when that tyrant was already going out the door!

If GOP Senators are going to vote to acquit the tyrant, then make them commit to it, now and for all Posterity to see.

I highly doubt this will happen. I can't see Biden even remotely wanting this. I don't think he wants to see America mured in another year long impeachment trial while he is trying to move the country along with his vision.

I don't think it's wise to try to be to clever, when it comes to Trump. Even now, he has support of about half all Republicans. He is the kind of figure the Founders always feared. Better to impeach and convict, thereby barring Trump from electoral politics completely. And then, prosecute him for his manifold crimes. Trump ought to be in prison by election day, 2024.

It has to be done quickly.
The longer it drags on, the harder it will be for Biden to heal as much of Americans as he can.

I agree that tRUMP needs to be held accountable. But it has to be done swiftly and quickly and put the failed experiment in the dungeon.

Trump isn't going to be removed from office through impeachment and he won't be impeached after he leaves office.
