I'm all for term limits, but more than one term. We need some continuity in government because I think all freshmen all the time wouldn't be good. Something like 18 years (3 terms) for Senators and maybe 10 years (5 terms) for Reps would suit me fine.

They should have to worry about their maintaining a majority of voters in elections. If they had only one term, then they would have no reason to care what the people who elected them want. Get in and grift while the sun shines, then get out. It's always a lame duck session when they've announced retirement that they may go flaky.

Maybe 2 years in not long enough for the House Reps. They do tend to start showboating for the next election as soon as they win the current one. That is annoying.

This is what is needed. Direct action. Good for her. May she be joined by all the others.

Just like there are lots of racist groups in this country. Which doesn't mean that "Racist" is a group.

It's an adjective! Your post just proved it. "Antifa groups". "Group" is a noun. "Antifa" is the adjective that modifies the noun. Basic grammar.

An Antifa group is a group of Antifa SJW's. They are typically violent and destructive and engage in various crimes, including commonly assault and rioting and occasionally murder.

Oh my stars, would you please at least attempt to be reasonable? The amount of unmitigated hyperbole in that premise is just such a typical of America's false narrative driven political scene. How on earth does a couple dozen morons roaming freely around a building taking selfies and breaking a few windows, in any way shape or form, measure up to a coup. This is pure ridiculousness.

Ah ha, when something shatters the narrative turn to silly fallacies, right? The events of what happened in Seattle in June 2020 are well documented by the entirety of media. Just because you aren't aware of it, doesn't mean its a "QAnon conspiracy".

Well then you're either intentionally choose to ignore the facts or you don't know the actually know them. These days I honestly wouldn't wager between the two, you just can't tell anymore. But just in case its the latter here are the President's tweets and a link to a video telling people to stop the violence and go home.

Please support our Capitol Police and Law Enforcement. They are truly on the side of our Country. Stay peaceful!

I am asking for everyone at the U.S. Capitol to remain peaceful. No violence! Remember, WE are the Party of Law & Order – respect the Law and our great men and women in Blue. Thank you!

These are the things and events that happen when a sacred landslide election victory is so unceremoniously & viciously stripped away from great patriots who have been badly & unfairly treated for so long. Go home with love & in peace. Remember this day forever!

So you think that using pejorative terms and prefabricated talking points makes a case?

It doesn't. Not in a real discussion. There is no group or groups called Antifa. Period. There are people who use violence to promote their political ideas. Whether they are anti fascists or pro fascists is irrelevant.

What is relevant is that we have, on one side, a President stoking violence while promoting illegal demands. And on the other nobody stoking violence, and fair and legal demands.

Empty rhetoric will not hide this fact. Not now, and even less when history rights this chapter. Up to you if you want to be on the wrong side of history. On the side that history will forever regard as "the bad guys" of the story.

Not much more left to say.

What "hyperbole" are you talking about? What I'm saying is exactly the reason why Trump is being impeached. Why leaders from both parties are calling for Pence to invoke the 25th A or Trump to resign.

Trying to make this seem as if I "just made it up" completely exposes your lack of arguments.

I told you already. "A couple of dozen morons" is not the issue. Only thing that matters is ONE moron. And that moron just happens to be the President* of the United States.

Cherry picking the irrelevant words in Trump's calls that produced all this violence is nonsense. Trump issued a call to violence. That's how his supporters interpreted it! And the violence happened. Not because of some mindless idiots who took it upon themselves. But because of ONE idiot who is doing everything he can to stay in power because he knows that once he's out, his probabilities of ending up in prison skyrocket.

You can choose to hide behind your strawman nonsense, or you can choose to analyze reality. Let me know when you can comment on my points.

The difference is, Collins is a loyalist to Trump. Always has been. 94% voting with Trump.

Yes I was wrong. She still belongs with the democrats nevertheless. How she votes isn't the issue to me. How people view the world is my issue. She is a liberal.

Of course there are. You're trying to deny a reality that is staring you in the face. Here's an example of exactly one such group:

    Rose City Antifa
The Anti-Defamation League has a post titled "Who Are Antifa?" and in it they say:

How she votes is by far the number one issue for me. Not just in her case. But it applies to all lawmakers. And it should be for anybody who is not a blind ideologue.

My issue is with people who believe that ideology is more important than doing the right thing. She's not a liberal. She's a conservative. Pretty far right, I would say. But if she's willing to place doing the right thing before ideological dogma and party affiliation, it shouldn't matter if she's a Democrat or a Republican.

People having an ideology is normal. I have an ideology. But giving it too much importance... allowing ideology to be the primary guide for every position you take on every issue... that's what has caused all this division. And it really is not that important. Ideology is not what will solve our problems. It just makes them worse.

What nonsense! So "Rose City Antifa" was responsible for the Seatle riots? Saying that because a group uses an adjective as part of that name, the adjective itself is a group is ridiculous. It's like saying that because there is a group called "Detroit Humanists", now "Humanists" is an organized group.

Exactly. That's what it is. It's "antifascist". It's not an organization. So what does anybody mean when they say something like "Antifa caused the riots in Seattle"? It's meaningless!

Likewise, "Trump supporters", is not an organization, so anything they do when gathering in groups is meaningless.

That’s strange. Usually sane people care more about how people ( legislators) actually vote as that’s what affects everyone. Really, I could give a sht how people think as it doesn’t affect me in the least. I’ve never been invited tot break bread with Lisa.

No more so then anyother person on the fence. Two votes from Romney and one other repo cancels out Manchin. The key is, putting legislation on the floor. The general budgets, Man nin will vote with Dems. Same with climate change issues, infrastructure, comp immigration reform and universal background checks. Bottom line, whining about the liberal left is a wast of hot air. There is none. The liberal left so called is supported by a majority of voters on every issue they support as a group.

That would require them to vote party line. They don't do that now sometimes.

What difference does it make which party they belong to at this point? It's 50-50. They still gonna vote how they vote.

Actually, when you stop and think about it, most males would do better with female primary cares and regular doctors.

I prefer them. When friends ask me if I get embarrassed having a woman give me a physical, I respond, “aren’t you more uneasy having a male give you one ?”
