<Headline edited for lack of space. Full headline follows in bold.>

"'I want him out': Alaska Senator Lisa Murkowski threatens to quit the Republican Party giving the Democrats a clear Senate majority unless President Trump resigns"

On Friday she told her local newspaper, Anchorage Daily News, that she was considering abandoning her party entirely after Trump, her party leader, whipped up his supporters into a violent frenzy and directed them to the Capitol, in an uprising which left four rioters and a police officer dead.
    https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/ar...an-Party-Democrats-clear-Senate-majority.html

In many ways it would be politically advantageous for Democrats if Trump isn't removed... if it weren't for the Nuclear Codes.

Fact is that Trump could do so much damage to the country in his last weeks in office, that removing him should not be a partisan issue.

    She would be welcome.

The GOP has become a party where those who have the slightest difference of opinion are treated as traitors.

Susan Collins also has some serious soul-searching to do.

She refused to vote for Trump's impeachment because she believed he would have learned from his mistakes....

This would free Harris from quite a few tie votes. I hope she does it. Better for the country.

You should relax because nothing is going to happen. He tweeted 5 times for the violence to stop before they suspended him and personally promised an orderly transition on 3 different occasions thus far. Don't let the media whip you into a ferny, and please don't be actually scared of anything. You have very little to worry about, this is just sky-is-falling drama. We'll be ok buddy, I promise you.

He's a sociopath! He tweeted "I love you!" to violent insurrectionists. WH staffers have said that he didn't understand why others around him weren't as happy as he was to see the mobs tearing up the Capitol.

I'm not worried that we might start a nuclear war. Only because I trust that the military has put safeguards in place so he can't start shooting nukes. It happened during the last days of the Nixon administration. And if there is any other point in history when this has been necessary that's now. But that means we are vulnerable while he's in office.

Trump has absolutely nothing to lose. He knows he'll be in prison soon after he leaves office. And his financial problems will become unmanageable after the many lawsuits he'll be facing.

It would help the Democrats, how much or how little, would depend on how she votes

~ Trump brought everything in this dysfunctional government to a head . It is now easy for even a casual observer to see what is/has been going on.

    I might one day re-join the Republican Party, however, I will never affiliate myself with the Republicans who objected the Electoral College Count. IMO, said elected Republicans should declare themselves Independent, and form their own party. Thus, hopefully, the following 3 visible parties prior to the 2022 midterm elections;

    Democratic Party
    Republican Party
    Faecal Party of America

Note: Prior to the midterm elections, the GOP will need to adopt a new platform.

She hasn't made the final decision yet but for her to actually say that she "thanked" about it is important. I am hoping she goes Indie and some day maybe good honest Republicans can say make the GOP grand again.

She would likely vote the way she would have voted if she hadn't restrained by the Hastert Rule while she was a Republican.

I like Murkowski as she one of perhaps less than a handful of senators that represent the people of her state instead of her political party all the time. Manchin, Collins, Romney are three others I put into that category. The rest is all about political party and not the folks back home as they never take into consideration of how the people back there think, want or wish.

I wouldn't blame her or hold it against her. But I would rather she became a true independent and by that I mean not in name only as Sanders and King are. Perhaps those other three senators I mentioned could come together and form a true independent caucus. Not caucusing with either major party and becoming a truer member of that party by voting the party line more than other official members of the that party does. Whichever way Murkowski goes, I wish her well.

Bro, Joe, bro, just imagine if, a few days after, he went out and did a major interview in which he said this about the riots:

"That's right. But they're not gonna stop. They're not gonna stop, and this is a movement, I'm telling you. They're not gonna stop, and everyone beware, because they're not gonna stop. They're not gonna stop before Election Day in November, and they're not gonna stop after Election Day. Everyone should take note of that, on both levels, that they're not going to let up — and they should not. And we should not."

I mean could you imagine, Joe my guy, the pure cataclysm of leftist outrage we'd be under right now if Pres Trump had gone out after a riot and said THAT? They'd probably be demanding federal troops go door to door to search homes for red hats. I mean Trump only said he wouldn't be attending the inauguration and that set off a massive social media purge and an impeachment. If he had said those words, what do you think, in your wildest dreams, would have been the left's reaction?

Btw that quote was from VP Kamala Harris from a Colbert interview 3 days after one of the major riots in 2020. I feel I have to tell you this because I'm almost certain you (and most leftists) didn't know that, after a major riot, she went on a hugely popular tv show and told people that the rioting should continue - which of course it did. I'm very much looking forward to your response, here's hoping its more than 10 words. :)

You know the crowd side was estimated around 150k-200k people. The number of thugs that breached the capitol around 100-125 and of those most just walked around snapping selfies before being told to leave. I say this because I read your posts and I can tell if you're legitimately worried of if you're just doped up on the endorphin rush that sensationalist media causes. Manufactured outrage media wants us to believe this was some million man organized army that took control of the entire federal government - it wasn't. It was simply a tiny tiny collection of dimwit knuckle draggers that were put down pretty much instantly and now they're all ending up in jail.

Point being just wanted to let you know things will be fine, Trump isn't going to randomly fire off nukes, ok? There is no red button, he has to give an order and the sheer number of professional military officers it takes to carry it out would never let it happen unless we we're basically under a full scale nuclear attack ourselves in which case - who cares we're all dead anyways ya know? So go easy we're fine.

Their fallout occurred months ago when they went on their anti-mask anti-shutdown anti-science rampages. This little drama is nothing by comparison, however it is more sexy to media and so its getting hyped beyond the hype of all hypes.

She belongs in the Democrat party. She normally votes with them. Is anyone surprised?
