My recommendation to my friends on the right is this:
If you want to be against teaching leftist ideas in our schools, then set teaching requirements to only need a high school education to teach.

You don’t seem to know what socialism is.
I noticed you didn’t call it “social security” so you could save face and pretend.

While social security and welfare are indeed able to survive is because they're both funded by capitalism i.e. (capitalist working tax payers), but it should also be said that both of those entities are socialist to the max. FDR's socialist created New Deal led to LBJ's socialist Great Society, which has now led to AOC's and the puppet biden's socialist Green New Deal.

Although Gorge Bush turned out to be or always was a globalist, I believe it was he who proposed that individuals (workers) open up their own private medical accounts which in the long run would have eliminated peoples' unnatural dependence on medicare, thus lessening the ever tightening grip from the Nanny State.

Really, does the far right have something against dictionaries. The medical community is moving to share medical records of every patient throughout all hospitals that participate in the care of its patients. Gee, isn’t socialized medicine a good think if your grandchildren live a thousand miles away and we like to travel that distance ? ?

SOCIAL security. Notice, it has the word “social” in it.

    socialized,,,,
    1. To place under government or group ownership or control

Or even less. After all, according to those who are against science and math other then counting, one really doesn’t need much education at all.....just an introduction to “common sense,” what ever that means without any knowledge.

I'm willing to bet that beside yourself there is no one here that has any idea what that mumble jumble response is about. Rest assured the money I'm willing to bet doesn't come from a socialized welfare check. :dizzy:

If those categories were really artificial, they would not have existed long before all this became an issue.

It absolutely is a perfecting process, and it's about not hating or ridiculing those who are different. Kids tend to "group" those around them. Some kids are more dominant and will try to control who they think fits their group and who doesn't. They tend to tease and bully certain others who are different. The differences can be obvious such as ethnicity, looks, physical impediments, etc., or they can be more subtle such as sexuality (coming on stronger during adolescence) or parental income (clothing, etc.).

You should be able to remember in school how some kids were labeled as fairies, queers, homos, fat kids, ugly kids, nerds, and almost any other way of creating a kind of social order. On good days they were marginalized and teased. On bad days they were shoved around and at times beaten or otherwise abused.

That kind of behavior does seem to be a natural tendency among humans and may have had some primitive role in establishing dominance, but we can rise above it. If we really believe in the idea of equality for all, we have to teach that because it's not an instinctive idea. It's a kind of perfection.

It's interesting that even people like John Locke saw such characteristics in kids and promoted the idea of education to lay the first foundations of virtue.
One thing Locke considered a virtue was the idea of independence. He felt that people should not feel the need to surrender to the most powerful and dominant in society. He considered thinking differently than others as a form of independence, and that a free society meant being free from the kind of bullying we see as a natural tendency among children--a precursor of a tyrannical society if allowed).

Locke stressed the importance of educating children in a way that satisfied curiosity and promoted critical thinking. So too does the state curriculum.

All of that is covered in the curriculum. Not only the historical, but the civics and economics as well--all covered as part of the Social Studies curriculum.

The problem lies in the fact that most of us were not taught much about minorities in history. We're mostly ignorant of many achievements. The fact that Black History Month became part of education shows that much has been left out in the past and that we tend to see it as unimportant. For example, Frederick Douglass' Speech on the 4th of July is an incredibly powerful speech that fueled a growing anti-slavery movement by using the words of the Founding Fathers to show the hypocrisy of society. It also broke so many of the stereotypes people had about the inability of Blacks to have useful intelligence that could add to society. It was rarely part of social studies a couple of decades ago. I tend to believe many of us have never read it. Why is it marginalized?

Not sure what this has to do with education and breaking down stereotypes. It would be great as something to research, but it's more of a college-level issue as far as that goes.

While I'm tempted to agree that its hard to define minorities, it's obvious that is how we order society. The example of Black women above indicates how we tend to separate others into groups.

Not sure what this has to do with the curriculum standards. We are by no means the longest surviving nation in the world, unless we limit that to the recent past. And I'm not sure what any of this has to do with safeguards and protection from other nations. It's about accepting those who seem different and seeing them as part of the whole rather than segmenting them. As Locke pointed out, it's about being able to think and live freely.

No sir. You objected to anecdotal examples, so I directly responded with an article showing professors, staff, and students engaging in politically bias activities while denying the same for those with opposing views. When you address this case, I have more.

You still have time to prove your asinine assertion that Republicans suppress voter's rights or that we
support racism. Take your time trying to dig up another nonsensical and childish example to prove your
    ridiculous accusations.

In Ames, Iowa they are having BLM come into the schools to teach kids about politics and BLM. This was just recently.

There is a good example for you.

And it's properly dealt with through the teaching and training to respect the rights of others. This doesn't require a deep dive into and years of immersion in racial categorization, the very tribalism that advances in learning and consideration are banishing.
That is not the young people of today. We as a society have lifted ourselves above that.
You keep making that assertion, yet, only a small subset of problem individuals feel the need to bully others. He is one of my favorites, worthy of great and careful study.
Name another Democracy surviving today, that began it's journey before we did. In fact, name another major nation that survives today, that has not been conquered or overturned in revolution, since we began our journey. Do not be fooled by the Authoritarian Left that would strip you of your rich heritage by first convincing you that what is precious is common.
If our young people do not understand what has produced our amazing stability and freedom, how will they know what of our great institutions to protect and preserve?
Exactly. Quit with the racism, the bigotry, the cramming of everyone into "baskets". There is one race, the Human Race, and we are each endowed with inalienable rights, the purpose of our Government being to protect and preserve them. That is our duty and responsibility to our fellow citizens. We protect and preserve their rights even as they protect and preserve ours.
Yup. We have forces every day trying to strip our rights to free speech. To "cancel", "deplatform". We have purveyors and advocates of "blacklists". Our young people need to warned and equipped to combat this.

    Are you joking now?

Free healthcare and education are absolutely luxuries. Something the vast majority of humanity will never see.

What does that even mean? I live in a country which has had nationalised healthcare for many decades. EVERYONE uses it, and our public hospitals are significantly better than our private hospitals.

If you think the second and third worlds wouldn't consider that a luxury, I can only assume you've lead a sheltered life.

The facts are that 'social programs' are a result of, and funded by, CAPITALISM.

When you've created a society in which people can no longer tolerate collectivism, you have two choices. Either BUY the services you refuse to provide yourself, or re-learn how to live in groups and share resources. Unfortunately, our greedy, lazy, and self-centred First World Western populations are too precious for the latter, so chose the former. All the stuff we used to do ourselves, is outsourced to the open market. We'd rather pay someone else to look after our kids, grannies, poor relations, disabled kin, etc .. than get our own hands dirty. That comes at a price, and is therefore both actually and philosophically - a luxury.

    PS: I'm no conservative.

A freaking cocktail party is 'social'. A very expensive meal for ten at an awarded restaurant is 'social'. A $7.50 soy latte with your best friend is 'social'.
