We are talking about zygotes, embryos and fetuses here. Not babies. So, I do not see how that question is relevant. I am not a "far right libo", but it does not really matter because we are not discussing political ideologies here, we are discussing abortion. Furthermore, using "lib" as an insult is very childish and so 2017.
Why are you making a package-deal out of "Democrat" and "Pro Abortion"? Since none of you anti-abortionists seem to know what rights are although you claim to support The Constitution, I will explain it to you; rights are moral principles put in place to protect the individual so that they can go their own way and pursue their own values. Rights can thus not apply to "the unborn" because they are, literally, physically attached to the woman and it is completely irrelevant that the fetus has the potential to become an independent being. Right there and then, they are not actualised humans. I regard my view on abortion as the one that is most in line with the label "Pro Life" -- I cherish human life and the only human life to take under consideration in an abortion is that of the woman because the fetus is not yet one. There is thus no "dilemma" and the issue is very clear cut. The people that call themselves "Pro Life" today are actually Anti-Life and the only lives they ever care about are those that are unborn and those that are already dead.
I asked for an example and you didn't provide one....Reading comprehension issues? Or just no proof? Haven't seen any yet that indicates Democrats are anything but Pro- CHOICE.... I have only seen Republicans who wish to destroy women's rights by taking away their bodily autonomy making them slaves..
Ritter said: ↑ Those characteristics are not human in of themselves. However, it is true that it is conceptually impossible to say that it is anything that even remotely resembles a human being before the first three months. Nonetheless, this whole viability thing really is irrelevant to the question because most abortions are performed before that anyways. I would still say life begins once the baby is no longer physically attached to its mother. Anythibg else is ridiculous. OMG, and YOU questioned MY reading comprehension?!!! That is the most messed up interpretation of what Ritter posted that could ever be imagined.. Could you show me EXACTLY where he said a fetus wasn't human? Because he never did...
Some of those fetuses are babies, in my opinion. Or at least borderline babies. If you have an argument advocating in favor of killing them, fine, but don't try to use those arguments unless you would be okay applying them to born babies too.
How many are "some" and what exactly is a "borderline baby"? If you are going to introduce new terms, it is on you to define them. What do you mean "unless you are okay applying them to born babies too"? This is a thread about abortion which implies it is only about those who are not born.
And atheists who have not fully looked into their position. Because there really is no other basis than religion on which one could possibly oppose abortion. It is only faith in religious dogma and belief in mystic concepts like "soul" that can lead one to the conclusion that life begins at conception. Furthermore, no atheist would have Jesus as their avatar.
Including late term abortion? Except it IS a life. It's a human life-form. When did I say that I am an atheist?
It stops being physically attached to its mother and is now free to independently interact with the world and start learning and pursuing values.
I am not an expert in the field of medicine, so I do not at what time in the pregnancy an abortion becomes too hard and or too dangerous to perform. As I have said in the past, this is something that is entirely up to the woman and her doctor. It is also a rather irrelevant question since most abortions are performed very early on in the pregnancy.
Yes. So were the skin cells on your fingers you kilked typing this -- Bloody murderer! You are not saying anything and that is your problem, sir.
Which fetuses are babies? Are giraffes sometimes cows? WTF is a "borderline baby" ? Once again your inability to see the difference between born and unborn hinders your understanding. That's odd since born and unborn have been explained to you many, many, many times..
Abortion is a necessary evil. I understand those who are prolife, but I also understand the concept of bodily autonomy.
