Well, it doesn't mean honey isn't beneficial for hay fever sufferers it's just that it doesn't have any inoculation qualities. I use honey on cuts because it is such a good antiseptic and it seems to help slow the bleeding. Its antiseptic qualities have been known since at least ancient Egyptian times. Warriors would go into battle with pouches of honey on their belts and the honey used to preserve internal organs as part of mummification is supposedly still edible after 4,000 years. Have you ever known honey to go off?
What sort of honey do you use? Manuka or supermarket honey? Honey has so many adulterants now. I’ve heard of honey’s longevity, a bit like Twinkies.
Not entirely disproven, but honey does have it's benefits. Can you use honey for allergies? - Mayo Clinic
Manuka is far too expensive for someone of my modest means. I try to buy the best value pure honey available. Usually the clear variety.
Should buy raw honey, of the sort that is infesting my kitchen along with the honey press, wax and honey drips on the floor and the odd dead bee.
I keep meaning to ask Farmer Paul what happens to the honey from the hives here on the farm. I'm not sure anyone collects it as pollination is the main purpose of having them.
I forgot that most fish are grown; either the fish seed gets sown or sows itself naturally when blown in the wind or tossed in the ocean; Oh wait, that's wrong, what's all this nonsense I hear about humanity thinking fish isn't meat? Can't eat meat on Friday, so have fish?! Why not; can't eat meat on Friday, so have something that's not meat, like a potato or tomato. I don't understand how my species and civilisation could have gotten fish so wrong; it is not a fruit, it is not a vegetable, it is not a grain, it is not a cereal, it is a meat; ALL fish is meat, so yes, @Sallyally Tuna is almost like a meat, in the sense that it is.
The only thing I don't like about eating fish is when those tiny fish bones (another clue there people on its status as a meat) that get stuck in my throat if they're left in. As far as fish go, love Cod in like Fish & Chips or Ackee and Saltfish (that's cod), love Tuna in like a Tuna Salad Sandwich or Tuna Pasta, am okay with Salmon, although I mostly have Salmon on a Nigiri Roll. I like Sole or Hake in a Fishcake. ... I also like Anchovies on a Pizza (like with Pepperoni or Bacon); so like Anchovy flavour with Bacon or Pepperoni, maybe some Fresh Tomatoes and you'd have a custom order I have, which is Anchovy, Crispy Bacon and Fresh Tomato pizza maybe a little Tuna on that Pizza too; it's nice.
I don't like barley. Rather than not eating it and leaving all the barley in my stew, I just don't make anything with barley and eat all the stew (because there's no barley in it). This stuff is gross, IMO.
Probably because they do and they're gross because they're disgusting; but that's the same offensive odour - they smell like urine.
I don't really like falafel either, now that I think about it... I've had it, ate it, bought it when I was hungry and saw a falafel place that was open on my way home before; but I don't know why though, I actually don't like it much.
Black liquorice/licorice. I've been to the NL, they love it out there, I guess I'm from a culture that isn't so into black liquorice (thank God). I've heard that other countries in Europe love this stuff, but I don't like it. Makes me thankful for milk chocolate in my own market/country, if I'm honest.
I guess it's all a pope's fault for telling people that fish isn't meat; what a loada' baloney. Maybe it's peoples fault for listening to them? ... The list of things that fish isn't include; Vegetable Fruit Nut Grain Cereal Fish is meat.
