A great solution for reparations

Why can’t a private organization collect donations? Wouldn’t that be the perfect way to know exactly how many support it? Sign your name and write a check. That way everyone will know exactly how woke you are and it’s not like there would be anything to be ashamed of right? Wouldn’t anyone be PROUD to donate to the reparations fund? It’s for a good cause.

And those that think they deserve it can put their names down as well and list their ancestors that were slaves. That way we have an honest record.

Those that want give can give. Those that want to receive can receive. EVERYONE is happy. Right? It’ll prove exactly who believes in the cause on both sides. And it’s so simple. They can use Venmo for fracks sake. All you need is a free checking account.

 

I'm thinking a go fund me page!! I'm sure the generosity of the left could generate a hundred bucks or so for all the harm their DixieCrats caused back in the day...

 

The only reparations I'm down with is the Chiners compensating all countries infected by their nasty virus and the harm it has caused the world..

Less than 20% of people (as of current polling) support reparations meaning — even if all of them voted and voted for Biden — less than 40% of Biden voters support it. Thankfully most on the left do not look at the president as a cult leader.

That's false. I provided you with an article from ABC showing that there are 170 Congress members supporting HR 40 (a reparations bill), 300 organizations, including the U.S. Conference of Mayors, NAACP and ACLU.

You ignored it. And wrote this. There's a very specific word that is used in these circumstances....unfortunately that word is not allowed here...even when its truthful.

 

Problem is it would just create another bureaucracy and would require years of study to figure out how to dispense the money.

The one I'm thinking of had to do with the famous "octaroons ". These were women who were one-eighth black, that is, they often had no more black ancestry than one black grandparent, yet that was enough to condemn them to the life of highly prized sex slaves in the New Orleans bordellos. When some of them actually appealed to the justice standards of the day is where you got the famous phrase from Louisiana law, where even "one drop" of black ancestry could make one a slave forever. It also became the de facto standard by which we say one is black or not in the US. If you have ANY black ancestors, even "one drop" of black blood, you are still colloquially seen as black yourself in the Land of the Free (if it is known and acknowledged)

 

I can't help but think we have been doing something very much like reparations since the early 1960's. Can anyone tell me how this would be any different?

Like, seeking to forgive students loan debt (which all taxpayers footed the bill to back) is not on the dem list. Medicare for all. Tuition-free college. Harris wanting to give all families $500 a month, basic free income for the non-productive. Sen. Elizabeth Warren wants to give away free health care for all, free child care for parents and caretakers and subsidized housing for lower-income families. Oh, and free college. Oh, and the cancellation of $640 billion in student loans — which goes beyond simply free into full refund land.

The list of such bovine excrement is long and ugly. Apparently, you either agree that someone else should pay all your bills, or you don't watch news.
