Well DUH. As we fiscal conservatives have been saying the government should not be paying people to not work. We saw the same in the 1990's welfare reform and after the 2001 recession. And Biden let the cat out of the bag when he BRAGGED about the government putting it's thumb on the private employment scale claiming the purpose of the payments is to give workers "leverage" for higher wages by competing with the private businesses to keep people out of the workplace. That is NOT the role of government.

Thankfully we have some Republican governors with much better economic sense and fiscal reaponsibilty and actually know it is best for people to actually work and become taxpayers again instead of a government expense.

Some Missouri businesses see uptick in applications after state set a June end to pandemic jobless aid

The number of unemployment-benefit recipients is falling at a faster rate in Missouri and 21 others states canceling enhanced and extended payments this month, suggesting that ending the aid could push more people to take jobs.....

.....“You’re starting to see a response to these programs ending,” said Aneta Markowska, Jefferies’ chief financial economist. In recent months “employers were having to compete with the government handing out money, and that makes it very hard to attract workers.”..

....Midas Hospitality, a St. Louis-based hotel company with 44 locations around the U.S., started holding job fairs to increase staffing as coronavirus restrictions eased about two months ago. In many cases, no one showed up, said Linda Eigelberger, senior vice president for operations and marketing. Other times, only two people would arrive, immediately get offered jobs and then not show up to start work, she said.

Then a few weeks ago, things began to change at its Missouri locations. At one property, seven people came to a job fair, which Ms. Eigelberger took as a positive sign. Then, two weeks ago, the Element St. Louis Midtown hotel had a breakthrough with 40 job seekers, she said.

“It’s crazy how quickly” things seem to be ramping up, she said, noting that workers in other states where Midas operates and the federal benefits are still in place appear reluctant to re-enter the workforce.....

do States lose this funding, where does the money go?

if it was approved until September, where does that unused money the States would of got go?

People want the government to take care of them. Mostly liberals and illegals.

Breaking news: people refused unemployment are no longer getting unemployment!

I’m glad red state governors are excited about the Biden recovery

Except in Indiana, where they violated their own state constitution to try and be bad-asses...

The whole thing is ending in early September anyway.... getting out 2.5 months early is just cruelty (which is, of course, the point)

No. It's not "cruel" for the able bodied to work, just like the rest of us do.

No kidding? Americans Are Leaving Unemployment Rolls More Quickly in States Cutting Off Benefits.
Yes. Folks that have to work and produce to obtain money can't effectively compete with folks that can just print it.

Lol@ cruelty expecting people to earn their keep and contribute to the society for which they benefit.

    Oh the atrocities!

It's only a couple more months, except these benefits should have been canceled simultaneously with the roll out of a vaccine.

Just admit you want to live on the teet of a nanny state.

Sounds like the EP under the Dirty Donald administration where TERMINATED EMPLOYEES were continually paid for months after they were terminated by their bosses lying and falsifying records, with apparent impunity, since none of them have been charged.

    Correction. The Obama recovery.
But trump f'd that up. That's why the economy crashed while trump was president. Just like it did under the R president, named Bush II

Inflation is hitting so hard its actually deferring depreciation. Progressives can fap about Biden's economy all they want but it doesn't show by the numbers (unless you want to be fooled by the CNN/MSNBC spin that only a bartender-economist would fall for). But I guess when one cares more about the endorphin high they get about lying on social media than they do about their own economic security, the fact don't matter much. By the end of Pres Biden's first term most Americans, maybe even you and your family, will have a lesser net worth - good luck with that.

I know right I'm so super excited and I'm now paying $3 for a gallon of gas instead of $1.70 I'm super stoked about that and also the rest of this inflation I'm super excited

The DNC and their media allies did a great job convincing half of the country to be outraged beyond all senses over things that had absolutely no impact on their personal prosperity. Right up until COVID hit and then, for the first time in all political history I've experienced, the leftest clamor of concern really did match up with reality.

I'd just prefer states follow their own rules and take care of their citizens when needed.

    Mine does...

Oh, and since not all the idiots will be getting the vaccine, what does that have to do with anything??

The Duopoly was behind the subprime mortgage lending crisis, it was once again a shared experience by both the parties.

I see you are pinning for the good old days of the pandemic when people were dying by the thousands a day, but at least the gas was cheap.

Youve got to be real dense to think what happened in 07-08 was caused by something that happened in 07-08. /facepalm

You’re joking right? This is trolling right?
