What do you expect Desantis to do, force people to get the vaccine? Sorry. This isn’t China. As a fellow vaccinated individual you have a greater chance of dying by a lightning strike. FL has 2.4Mil cases and less than 39k deaths.

Florida’s population by the way is much older so far more vulnerable. And let’s not forget, FL doesn’t have an obliterated economy or the same exaggerated ramp up in crime and murder like CA is going through.

FL will get through this and come out better than CA AND NY again and again. Covid is here to stay like the Flu. People will always get sick and some will die. No point in living if there is no society left because Democrats have destroyed the economy. Few care about getting sick when the jobs are gone. The vaccinated will survive. Those unvaccinated have to deal with their decision.

I would expect anti-vaxers like Desantis to, at a minimum, NOT undermine the efforts of those who are trying to fix this. Just stay out of the way! Today, 1 in every 5 new cases of Covid in this country come with Florida. I'm not talking about a year and a half ago, when we had very little idea about how to deal with a pandemic. I'm talking about NOW. Florida is in a sub-tropical area. The only state comparable is Hawaii.

As for the elderly, Florida has 3 times more senior home deaths per 100 residents than New York, and nine times more than California. Why? Because New York and California have acted based on what we have learned. While Desantis still prevents nursing homes from requiring their staff to comply with CDC guidelines. And has banned local authorities from issuing emergency Covid orders like the ones that have allowed states like NY and CA to improve and save many lives.
