Misleading. We're 21st, not 1st in death toll per million. Not sure if your apples to oranges comparison was intentionally misleading, or you just didn't think that you were doing it.

Stop the PCR faulty crap/conspiracy manure!

CDC withdrawal COVID-19 PCR test is due to the development of newer tests that help save time and resources, not because the test is faulty.

The Lab Alert notified users that the CDC would be withdrawing its request for emergency use authorization for its COVID-19 PCR diagnostic test after December 2021. This isn’t because the performance of the CDC’s RT-PCR test for detecting COVID-19 showed any problems, but because tests that are capable of processing more samples within a given time and detecting more than one pathogen have since been developed. Such characteristics make these tests the preferred alternatives in the interests of time and resources

You mean, "stop posting facts that are inconvenient to my preconceived partisan beliefs". Yeah, NO.

THAT is what we call "propaganda", lol. The CDC also came out not long ago and revised the recommended number of PCR cycles down.
    https://www.cdc.gov/csels/dls/locs/...o_include_info_on_cycle_threshold_values.html

From the previous article I cited:
Nordlund did not respond to followup queries asking if the risk of false positives had motivated the CDC's discontinuance in any way.

    That's called "lack of transparency".

I don't have to "twist" numbers. All I have to do is show them. Since I opened a thread titled (something to the effect of) "1 in every 5 new cases are now in Florida" about 2 weeks ago, this stat has not changed much. I don't check it every day. But yesterday it was 19.5%. Today the seven day daily average in the US was 61306. In Florida it was 10452. That's 17%. A bit better than yesterday. But it's be hovering between 17% (the lowest I've seen in the last two weeks), and 21%
    https://91-divoc.com/pages/covid-visualization/

So NO! No state is worse than Florida right now. And considering the fact that this is a state with sub-tropical climate, we should be better than ANY other state. Desantis is a big mess.

I don't know what nursing homes have to do with this pandemic. But that's not going to help you much. Florida has 3 times more deaths in nursing homes (0.09 per 100 residents) than New York (0.03 per 100 resident) and 9 times more than California (0.01 per 100)

    https://www.aarp.org/ppi/issues/caregiving/info-2020/nursing-home-covid-states.html

There is no statistic right now in the country worse than Floridas' And there is absolutely no excuse for this. Florida had all the resources, we know now more about Covid, and our weather is appropriate. Weak link: Desantis.

Considering population varies by state you’re comparing apples to oranges with the 1 in 5 cases.
Not to mention, FL is a popular destination this time of year.

    So... meh.

My fear is that covid will return because my friends don’t wear masks anymore. And unfortunately it probably will mean we can’t meet up if things get worse.

And, more importantly, who the governor is varies by state. And Florida has shown to have one of the worst!

Florida does NOT have anywhere near 20% of the population of this country. So your excuse is absurd.

It's basic math. Florida is the third largest populated state in the country. Of course Florida is going to have more cases than Wyoming, lol.

You'll need to quote the rate - new cases per 100,000 - to avoid being misleading. Thanks. Florida still might have the most cases, but at least then you wouldn't be grossly misusing statistics for your partisan purposes.

Definitely basic math. One out of every five new cases in the country are in Florida. If you want to brag about your math skills, you might want to notice that's 20%.

Math doesn't get much more basic than that. And Desantis' mishandling of the pandemic couldn't be more clear.

If the states were evenly populated, you might have a point.

I have a point because Desantis mishandled the pandemic. THAT is my point. The fact that Florida has 1 in 5 new cases is only one of the arguments that proves that point.

Nah. Florida is popular this time of year. He hasn't mishandled anything.

If you want to press your point, I suppose we can point out the new cases are largely from Democrat areas of FL. Why are Democrats getting COVID faster? Thanks.

That you believe “Democrat” areas are inhabited by 100% of Democrats speaks volumes about how utterly clueless you are. That you believe COVID can spread faster by political affiliation shows how utterly stupid you are. Yup I said it and you’ll go running to the mod to tattle because you’re a p u s s y, but it’s well worth it. Chow

The most densely populated areas in the state. Areas in which Desantis banned and continues to ban any action that local governments wanted to take to prevent the spread of Covid. That's precisely why it was mishandling is Desantis' doing.

To this day, Desantis will not allow local authorities, or education authorities, to take steps to prevent the spread of the virus.

    https://www.usatoday.com/story/news...announce-mask-and-vaccine-mandates/5413368001
    https://www.forbes.com/sites/nichol...ock-mask-mandates-in-schools/?sh=7e468f443d87

And he has placed this kind of limitations in local governments wanting to take action since the start of the pandemic. The result is that today Florida is the worst state handling of the Covid crisis.

Florida is in the hands of a psycho.

You realize people can self quarantine, wear masks, or get the vaccine without a government mandate if they choose to, right?

But the maps do kind of put to rest one of two liberal canards - either liberals make up a sizeable portion of unvaccinated people, or the vaccines are not working. Simple logic.

Nope! Most antimaskers and antivaxers behave like children. I'm convinced the only way they will behave like adults is by forcing them to.
