Hmmm, I heard some talk about the FBI having agent(s) but never anything to confirm but now it seems they did.

As scores of Proud Boys made their way, chanting and shouting, toward the Capitol on Jan. 6, one member of the far-right group was busy texting a real-time account of the march.

The recipient was his F.B.I. handler.


In the middle of an unfolding melee that shook a pillar of American democracy — the peaceful transfer of power — the bureau had an informant in the crowd, providing an inside glimpse of the action, according to confidential records obtained by The New York Times. In the informant’s version of events, the Proud Boys, famous for their street fights, were largely following a pro-Trump mob consumed by a herd mentality rather than carrying out any type of preplanned attack.

Which seems to match the previous statements by the FBI and the lack of any indictments for conspiracies and certainly nothing connecting anyone outside of the protest to anything.

On Jan. 6, and for months after, the records show, the informant, who was affiliated with a Midwest chapter of the Proud Boys, denied that the group intended to use violence that day. In lengthy interviews, the records say, he also denied that the extremist organization planned in advance to storm the Capitol. The informant’s identity was not disclosed in the records.

The records describing the informant’s account of Jan. 6 — excerpts from his interviews and communications with the F.B.I. before, during and after the riot — dovetail with assertions made by defense lawyers who have argued that even though several Proud Boys broke into the Capitol, the group did not arrive in Washington with a preset plot to storm the building.

So what now for the partisan Jan 6 commission when in fact there was no grand conspiracy and it was just a protest that got out of hand and the law enforcement failed to stop or curtail until everyone decided to go home.

 

If only they could infiltrate America's two most dangerous, most violent, most ubiquitous, and most funded terrorist groups: BLM and ANTIFA.

I tell you, those patriots who walked into the Capitol to make our great president Trump dictator for life were all set up by the deep state. And if they weren't, it was undercover Antifa and BLM who led the charge, disguised as Trumpers. Hyperbole? Maybe a little exaggeration, something that your dear leader is using as a tactic in his speeches every time.

In any case, I am tired of the attempts of the RW to whitewash the events of 1/6. Of course, we know that, if history proves you wrong, as is the case for GOP policies on pretty much EVERY major issue, you have to rewrite history, instead of cleaning up your political stance. Ideological purity and loyalty to the great leader demand it.

 

The NYT is only sharing this because worse is going to be found out through discovery. The FBI is "leaking" to the NYT in order to soften the blow.

Yep when the facts do not follow their narratives out comes the diversions and hyperbole.

 

Media has focused on the Proud Boys as having planned for the riot. As if they instigated the riot. This is showing otherwise. This is showing that the riot occurred naturally. IE: It was not instigated by anyone at the riot.

 

I think discovery may show that the FBI instigated it.

 

It occurred naturally after months of instigation by dirty donny bonespurs.

 

Trump said nothing that was not any worse than what any other politician has said.
