    Former President Donald Trump defended rioters’ chants of “hang Mike Pence” during the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol, saying it was understandable because they were angry the election hadn't been overturned, according to audio released Friday of an interview with the former president in March.

    I don't see the big deal. Yes, it was in poor taste for someone in the position of Presidency to say they approved of those chants, but it was obvious it was more sensationalistic and not literal.

    Plus it's not really clear that he directly condoned exactly what they were saying.

    He didn't address that he dodged it. BTW there was no one with any intention of "hanging" Pence and killing him there, "hanging in effigy" has a long history in this country.

    Exactly! President approves a mob chanting `kill the vice president"? Not a big deal. We should add an amendment to our Constitution to allow to president to bless mob breaking to the Capitol and chanting "kill the vice president". Only this way we can Make America Great Again.

    You nailed it. Mob chanting "hang Mike Pence" have no intention to hang Mike Pence, and when they chant "Make America Great Again" they have no intention to help America either.

    The ones who rioted in the Capital? Of course not, where have you ever derived that from anything I have ever posted I have been quite clear any of them who violated should be prosecuted accordingly. I think all persons who engage in violent protest should be prosecuted how about you?

    The ones who carried around the fake gallows chanting in a long tradition in American politics to "HANG THE FOOL" sure they have free speech don't they. I'm a big 1st Amendment guy. How about you? Ever hear some of the chants and BLM and Antifa and Anti-Trump rally's?

    Have you seen a picture of the "gallows". Wouldn't they think they'd be arrested and sent to prison for doing so? Has the FBI charge anyone with such an intent?

    So the Capitol Police evacuated the Vice President for nothing.

    And this gentleman was there to care for elected officials?

    Trump has lowered the standard for being POTUS incredibly.

    Vulgarity, no respect for institutions, normalization of racism, willing to trample the Constitution to stay in power.

    At a rally this fall, he spoke of the threat posed by the 'invasion' of Afghan immigrants.

    If you replace the word 'Afghan' with 'Jews', you get a Joseph Goebbels speech...

    It doesn't really look like it was designed to carry the weight of an actual person, if that person were to hang.
    It mostly looks like a platform to stand on.
