Agree that it is a black day - but for different reasons. Not paid much attention - so correct if missing pertinent details -- but was a riot situation ..or something similar .. folks getting out of control.... Kid with a bit of an authority affinity ... but .. first aid is good to know and one needs to be brave.. So - during this "riot" the kid is confronted with what .. someone tried to hit him with skateboard .. some other stuff .. but definitely aggression towards him. OK .. again forgive the scant detail -- but the generalities are correct I think .. if you are in a riot situation .. and you aggress on someone .. a civilian you don't now .. one might claim you could expect to get shot .. but thats just me .. Vigilante Justice ... was this such a case .. and if so .. do I care .. as I do not view all vigilante justice as unjustified .. Most though. How the law measures such things is a matter for case law to sort out. ..where that bar is .. pretty grey... too much so IMO. Why I say it is a black day is because of the general state of the union .. which is not just happening here in the US .. Europe has issues of its own .. the popcorn kernals are popping .. and I am sure you have both heard my Popcorn theorty .. if not will be glad to share it again. Don't think the court ruling was a licence for vigilante justice .... as much as you say .. being hyperbolic at least a little ..that said .. we are definitly moving closer to an armed conflict zone ... just not as bad as Afghanistan .. sans a few neighborhoods. He is presumed innocent until found guilty in a court of law. They have a trial. In the trial, it is usually impossible to absolutely establish innocents. So, they find either find guilty or not guilty. However, since he was not found guilty, the presumption of innocents still applies. He is forever innocent in this particular event..

What I saw on the recording was an Active Shooter who had just killed someone ( I am told this, I have not seen it) being chased by 2 of his prospective victims. At one point they catch up to hlm and he kills one and shoots another. Has it come to this? Are we now trying the madmen who randomly kill us for "self-defense" and letting them go?
