What do you propose to gain. I moved to my town because it wasn't diverse and am quite happy. Now the local dems want to import diversity and the crime rate increase and the traffic is congested. I say to hell with it, but you would force it on me.

 

You say this as an absolute. It's not, and it's proven itself time and time again.

Unfulfilled need? Exactly what 'need' is being fulfilled by committing a crime? Much less murder. While crime is disproportionately part of the low income environment, it is still an active choice. That too has proven itself over and over.

In part. The short answer is subculture. It's not their genetics, it's the complex process over many generations that has shaped their culture. American culture to begin with causes excess violence/crime compared to other places. It is even worse in this subculture. But not all black persons are members of this subculture.

That said, I am not sure if diversity is really the key to harmony. It's true that there is strength in a variety of perspectives, but humans seem almost wired to be tribal. Malcolm X might have been right about separation.

The only one specifically material, which can 'prove' a satisfaction of need, is theft. Even that has gray areas.

 

Bernie Madoff explained what happened, and it was more a single situation snowballed, and he let it. For from being excused, it was a crime of opportunity.

I wouldn’t argue that it is the only factor, but it is a massive one. Don’t you think it quite telling that you have to point celebs while I am pointing to the statistical data that those born into poverty tend to live and die in it?

Plenty of crimes prove unmet need. Drug addiction, child victimization, spousal abuse, etc. could all point to poor mental health services/availability. Of course this would be highly subjective based on the individual and circumstance.

I think it is an extremely rare thing to find a person that commits a crime because they are “evil”.
