The unemployment rate in my county then as I noted at the time here was under 4% and just over 4% in my state of poor little ole Alabama. GDP had recovered and the economy was posed to explode.

 

And Democrats leave all sorts of issue too, Clinton left Bush a recession, the dot.com bust and the lead up to 9/11. Carter left Reagan a total mess. And had not the Republicans taken back the Congress and instituted the austerity and sequester programs and stop the harmful economic polices of Obama no telling what Trump would have inherited. And let's not forget, when Obama came into the Presidency that recession which had been deepened and prolonged by the Democrat Congress was ending, all he had to do was get us into a strong and full recovery and his policies failed to do so, it was the worst recovery in modern history and we are still paying for that. And Biden was quite fortunate he inherited vaccines and therapeutics for COVIC a strongly recovering economy from that economic shutdown that had occurred and again all he had to do was get out of the way and let the economy recover, instead he is trying a repeat of the fail Obama demand side policies and we are now paying the price for that with the inflation we are seeing.

 

Your strained machinations miss the fact that the President does not control the FED. The money Biden dumped in went straight to consumers with is demand side policies which failed in the 2010's just as they are doing now except they are driving the worst inflation in decades now and leading us into stagflation. And he wants to dump more money into the economy which will make matters worse because he knows if he actually adopts the supply side policies his base will go ape you know what and it will once again disprove progressive economics.

 

I didn't attribute the 12.2% to under the Trump administration the recovery was well UNDERWAY under the Trump administration and Biden should be thanking Trump instead of his attacks on him.

It has nothing to do with the one that Bush gave as a gift to the American people in 2008.

When Trump arrived, the budget was practically balanced, the unemployment rate was below 4% and the GDP growth was around 2.3%/year.

The most complete irony is that despite a totally Republican-controlled Congress, Trump couldn't do better than Obama in three years... while adding 5% to the national debt.

Surely you are creative enough to explain this contradiction to me.
