What party will elect the first female president? Democrats or Republicans?

What party do you think will the first female president be from? Also if you had to make a guess: when do you think we will get our first female president?

Note: I know Hillary was the first woman to win the popular vote in 2016. But I talking about the Electoral College.

I think the woman who will become the first female president is already living and most likely is already elected.

 

The Rs will elect the first female. However, we will get out first female potus in about a year.

 

Probably republican. Democrat positions held by a female would be more threatening than a female holding traditional views. And being female would be less of an asset to a democrat running against republicans since females are more likely to vote democrat anyway.

Margaret Thatcher was the UK's first elected leader (i.e. not monarchy), and was conservative. Australia had Gillard, but I don't know a lot about their politics. I guess labor is center-left..?

Neither Democrats nor Republicans will field the first female president. The first female president will be Canadian.

 

Don't be so sure. As president, Biden will be kept alive at all costs. Even if he must become a walking zombie to do it.

 

Hard to say. The right has more of the old time conservative and religious folks who may still be stuck in the past thinking that a woman's place is in the home. But that amount of folks who think that way would be pretty hard to measure.

I'd venture a guess to say that the Democrats will do it first, but they will be aided by the diversity movement on the left. There is no diversity movement on the right that would champion a woman president the way the left would. I know that comment will invite those folks who will say something about only voting for qualified people not genders, but these same folks elected Donald Trump so their allegiance to qualifications are questionable in the first place.

 

The current VP has the top slot and checks all the boxes that democrats care about.

But when he’s impeached, then the first woman potus. But she isn’t the elected potus, the Rs will do that.

 

The popular vote means nothing in our system. Hillary lost, period and excla-damn-mation mark. I’m glad the popular vote doesn’t count too. Anyway, democrats will probably be the first. I know republicans that won’t vote for a woman at all. That will hold that party back from accomplishing that goal.

The most qualified republicans are all men. Kennedy-Pence-Cotton-Desantis. Only Niki Haley comes close as them and I see her more as a VP candidate.

 

Canada already had a female PM.

 

I think the only way Republicans will vote for a female POTUS is if she's 'hot' and has media pictures of her carrying a big ass gun.

I think a Warren-Beto ticket would be a good one for dems. Native American and Hispanic and white all at the same time. With at least one vagina.

 

Probably Democrats, since they have many more bigots within their ranks who view this sort of thing solely through the lens of race/sex/etc rather than merit.

 

What about education as a qualification? I know it is just a segment of a life that takes place mainly in your 20s. How does that matter to a person who is 55?

I personally do place a high value on it. I prefer a candidate who has an elite education vs somebody who graduated with a BA degree from Joe Blow State. Obviously their work experience in life is more important after but I do value that.
