IMO, the current vulnerable and failed land based education should be scrapped, but until that happens several armed qualified volunteers need to be posted on ever floor of every school.

No. This story doesn't add up even a little bit. I'm not claiming it's a hoax. I'm just saying it couldn't have happened this way without some kind of inside help.

A door left ajar or unlocked, a missing armed security guard, NO staff in the halls...? How far did he have to travel inside the building to reach his destination?

At the very least, I'd like to see them investigate the teacher and security guard. I usually am not one that is quick to terminate an employee but they both need to be disciplined.

Your arguments are pretty much crap. You are only focused on mass shootings which is a miniscule number. That doesn't surprise me though since you are also mostly focused on AR (killy looking) guns that also are only used in a miniscule number of killings. You only compare the US to countries that have no similar culture. You don't look at the data when you compare Australia's "success" to the US or you would see that the gun confiscation didn't actually do anything. In fact, the killing in the US dropped faster than Australia's did while our gun number went up and theirs went down. Gun buy back programs work great for giving money away to people that want to get rid of their POS guns. Doesn't help curb crime any but I'm sure that you know that. No one is going to go get $50 for their $1500 AR. I think that bump stocks should be regulated as part of the automatic weapon laws already on the books. However, it would make a miniscule to non-existent difference. You don't look at culture, you don't look at the human component at all. You don't care that crime has skyrocketed since all the criminals were released from jail/prison or since the defund the police movement. Why would you? It's not good TV. Your pie in the sky ideas are not reality and are pretty much useless. I would actually like to save some lives instead of dream about some non-existent utopia.

What happens next?
We are in a world of physicality with 'smacking' are we not, so taking the cue from the adult, a child responds to a physical act with a physical act of their own.
What should the adult do in those circumstances?

I suppose the families of those dead children are not victims because they're still alive.
Whatever the actions of the teacher may have been, they were one of the victims of the event, but you want them sanctioned in some way.
I think that is a sickening attitude.
