i was the police so spare me a lecture on how they can be better from a person who never did that job and had no understanding of the criminal culture here.
The choice is you can either let killed while waiting for the cops, or save yourself. You will not understand this as you don’t understand or live in this culture. Maybe I can give you advice on something I’ve never done in the future that quantifies your security.
Oh you were, were you? So you know proper police procedure, right?

Absolutely not. Your talking about isolated societies that are 95 percent homogeneously white. They are completely incomparable to the United States.

What I said it factually correct, so why the accusation?

Ya not correct. There’s only been 13 mass school shootings since 1966

I said there has been 27 school shootings this year.

You twisted that into 27 MASS shootings, so you could accuse me of lying, but you only managed to make a liar out of yourself.

You can go pound sand now. Bu-bue.

Is the UK a "democracy"?

"The one pervading evil of democracy is the tyranny of the majority, or rather of that party, not always the majority, that succeeds, by force or fraud, in carrying elections." Lord Acton

First you accuse me of not offering solutions, and when I show you that I already have done that you resort to irrational personal ad hominem attacks.
It is better to avoid doing that -- especially here. :)

History is not irrelevant. I bet you know that.

Try a little substantive rebuttal -- it works better.

Well, for starters one of our major political parties wants to defund the police and send social workers. That can't have helped the ole ankle monitoring budget.

That's right, a police state cannot protect and serve the people.
Eventually, a police state cannot even protect and serve itself.

Cops can be very brave, but they have no duty to protect or serve any individual.
IOW, as the RCMP, and the Uvalde police proved, no one should ever count on the police to save them.

Yes I did, I even posted the difference between probable cause and reasonable suspicion for you. Did you have a comment about the post you quoted or are you just upset I had to explain things to you after you started a thread? What if you had read that BEFORE you made your thread, I'm just trying to help you buddy.

The Inconvenient Truth: When guns are outlawed only outlaws will have guns.

“During my 12 and a half years as a member of this body, I have never believed that additional gun control or federal registration of guns would reduce crime. I am convinced that a criminal who wants a firearm can get one through illegal, nontraceable, unregistered sources, with or without gun control.” Joe Biden, In a debate over the Firearm Owners Protection Act (FOPA) on July 8, 1985.

That will be decided by the majority of the voters.

And you will have to live with their decision.

What they want is not what what the existential reality was at the time of the event.

Absolutely not.
The police and security forces would have guns.
The mentally ill or overly exciteable would not.

I am not suggesting à police state. Other countries have a strong police présence but always answerable to the elected government.

And this is what needs to be changed.
The whole service from purpose to practise needs to be changed fundamentally.

You didn't offer à solution. Merely à course of action that compounds the problem.
And there was no ad hom. Unless you are frightened of your own shadow.

Even Joe Biden knows that anyone who really wants a firearm will always be able to obtain one "through illegal, nontraceable, unregistered sources, with or without gun control.”.

It is always easier to obtain an illegal gun when legal guns are banned.
In the UK it became easier to order a gun than a pizza -- after the gun ban.

Google "illegal drug trade" to see how that works.

How do you figure? Saturation is legal guns keeps the illegal market stocked.

A Police State exists whenever the police are armed and the people are disarmed.

Correct, almost all police should be disarmed and the public should be well armed.

The UK had far less crime when its professional police were disarmed.
