Not this time you didn't, all you did was what I always see of your counter, move the goal post and or redirect It's cool, it's very common when rebutting with the DNC bunch.. Nothing but love my brutha!!
Gotta play Devil's Advocate here, especially since I would have been okay with the decision going either way, but - I think you're wrong on this point. I mean, Alito said: “The Constitution does not confer a right to abortion; Roe and Casey are overruled. The authority to regulate abortion is returned to the people and their elected representatives.” Allowing abortion to be decided on a state level via elections is the OPPOSITE of authoritarianism.
No. I said government should not interfere with what a person does with their body. Now if you’re the murdering type, and I’m not saying you are, and you want to kill the life that you gave life to, then that’s on you and whatever moral authority you report two.
Neither side cares for anything but power and authority, and will twist and play on the fears and beliefs of their constituents to achieve it. The left does it with guns and racial issues, among others, and the right does it with religious, economic, and immigration issues, among others. All are important issues, but all are weaponized, and used to divide and control rather than unite and compromise.
This I agree with. It is between the individual and their god/beliefs. They have to live with the weight and horror of the event. Government has no place in the issue.
What the SC did was allow states to enact authoritarian laws against women. There will always be humans who think authoritarianism is fine when it supports their personal position. Like with white supremacy, employment law, etc., it takes the protection of the constitution to reduce the affects of racism, sexism, and discrimination on the basis of religion. >> The SC promoted authoritarianism. And, if you think that's the end of it, you are wrong. Clarence Thomas states that the next target is same sex marriage. In fact, he says the next targets include allowing states to reenact sodomy laws - laws against oral and anal sex. In fact, legal aids to Thomas are known to have supported his wife's active and direct assault on democracy.
You just don't understand how our system works. This ruling ends the possibility of similar challenges made in other states. Even if someone tried to challenge the ruling in some other state, the SC would surely not accept the case, as it has already ruled.
BS, the states are more politicians, as crooked as federal politicians, but with a smaller net. States should not be able to dictate what someone does to their body any more than the federal government should. Neither should states be able to disarm their citizens, any more than the federal government. Both state and federal government should never be able to encroach on personal freedom, no matter what laws they pass.
They do it everyday. I know y’all exist, I have several friends that are actual conservatives and don’t believe the government should be involved in the day-to-day lives of everyone. But y’all are in the minority in your party now
You can't look at it that way. Roe protected women from authoritarian laws that states have wanted to enact. By removing that protection, they make it clear that states are free to enact authoritarian laws against women. It's the same as would be the case if the SC were to revoke the long entrenched protections against discrimination based on race, sex, religion, etc., in public accommodation and employment. States would be free to enact authoritarian laws. In fact, Clarence Thomas states that is his intent. He specifically referred to same sex marriage and the reenactment of sodomy laws by revoking Lawrence v Texas. Other justices claimed that is not their intent. But, that is just flat out laughable. If they are fine with authoritarian laws (which they state they are), why would they stop with denying only one such protection???
Oh I know, but and I promise you California will be open for business, hell Grusome is prolly dancing the jig So hell make a week of it ladies and gents, you will love the sites, don't forget to do Disney ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Remember Ashley Babbitt, much of the Left is on the record as supporting the police killing unarmed protesters if they are in the act of committing a misdemeanor. If folks want more abortion availability, they are welcome to inform their State Legislatures of their desires, and if they don't respond as they wish, vote in representatives that will.
Excellent decision. The dems are slowly but surely losing. This has caused significant damage to the psyche of the radical left. Good, as it’s much deserved. This barbaric law had no place in a rational, reasonable, civil society. the left is no longer progressive, they are regressives, and traitorous. I wonder how much terrorism they will cause after this. I’m glad the scotus stood it’s ground. I’m proud to be an American! Way to go America! One issue at a time, rejecting the far left regressives. Woo hoo!
Exactly, it doesn’t at all. It was an irrational claim, and a stretch by the overly emotional to try and relate such unrelated things lol.
Double baloney. The states are more local to the people. If you do not like democracy perhaps you should move to China.
This is about protection of rights that are not explicitly written in the constitution. There are many such laws, and this is an assault on the very idea that there are limits to what states can decide to do to an individual. All law concerning discrimination is in this category - protections that many states oppose. The paltry protections against unequal treatment of LGBTQ individuals comes in this category. Protections such as the right to interracial marriage and same sex marriage. Protections of the right to have sex in the manner that consenting adults want is in this category, as justice Clarence Thomas states that he wants to allow laws against oral sex. This major promotion of authoritarianism can not be limited to just Roe.
The use of absolutes (wrested control) destroys your argument. No one who isn't raped is forced to conceive, nor are they forced to live in states without abortion.
