After intending to end public hearings, this month, the J 6 Committee made a major change in their plans, deciding to postpone further hearings, for at least several weeks, until the middle of July, in order to give themselves time to follow up on all the new tips, and evidence, that had come their way, since the beginning of public hearings.

But now the Committee is doing a double- about-face, and has scheduled another hearing for tomorrow (Tue., 6/288), at 1 P.M. Eastern). The witness who will be before them, they are keeping tightly under wraps. If these hearings live up to the circumstances, under which they are arising, this should be something special.

As this is a breaking story, I don't yet see any articles on it, but it is being reported that last Wednesday, the DOJ executed search warrants on 5 of the principals, related to January 6th.
MSNBC is using this strong foundation as a basis to speculate, that this hastily-scheduled hearing, may likely be a result of some juicy evidence, uncovered during those searches. Something unusual must be happening, which at least the Committee considers significant. Stay tuned 'til tomorrow, to find out, what it could be.

Outside of audio of Trump confessing - there is nothing that they are going to uncover that is going to change anyone's mind

It will just be more of the same - Trump trying to get someone to over turn the election based on imaginary evidence

Now if Melania walks in as the surprise witness, that will break the internet

Lucy never moves the football when Charlie Brown attempts to kick it.

1/6 Committee to liberals: “come home Charlie Brown, we won’t move the football this time.”

Melania walks in as a surprise witness wearing a "Ban abortion" jacket. The left wouldn't know what to do, heads would explode.

It will be interesting to see if only "more of the same," was enough to cause the Investigation's erratic change of course. I don't discount the possibility, that what they may find to be earth- shaking revelations, may turn out to leave the rest of the country, unmoved.

More of the same to you, but lawyers and the DOJ are very interested in all of this.

This time it isn't a republican popularity contest. The law matters. And soon you will learn the difference.

You may well be right. In fact I don't think I would bet that if they played a tape of Trump confessing, it would, necessarily, change things, all that much. But, nor am I completely sure, that it wouldn't.

    You're right!

It's Congress, and they write the law.

I concur. The whole world watched him incite a riot and dereliction of duty to get those officers back-up. If that isn't enough to let people know exactly what a monster he is, nothing else will. He can't spin that in any direction because we watched it live. He has yet to acknowledge those officers or the trauma therapy many of our lawmakers have sought since that day.

Trump confessing will be chalked up to "voice double", he just said it to get people to stop the "fake news" and "witch hunt", that wasn't really him but an imposter, etc., etc.. He created this solely because he's toxic and loves chaos and destruction (his drug of choice along with what I suspect is some kind of speed) and they are more than willing to oblige.

There are far more variables in this schit show than can be figured out. That's the only thing that is certain so far.

It is when it's administrative, of which this investigation is about finding what happened, and why.

They are in fact enforcing their Constitutional duty.

Looks like the surprise guest will be Cathy Hutchinson, former aide to Meadows.

Luc, did you miss your monthly "I don't care about the country or Constitution, Orange Jesus is my everything" newsletter this month?

FYI, in case you missed it, our former VP-Pence was hung out to dry by his own POTUS, on camera and they consider him the "traitor" for upholding his oath. Do you really think they give a damn if this committee is upholding theirs'?

Of course not, but by that point, it will force many of them to at least pause and ask themselves if order or pandemonium is the future they want. At that point, we have to act accordingly.

That old axiom, history does not repeat itself, but it sure as hell rhymes.

Where did you hear this, and who are they citing, for their sources, "unnamed people, close to the investigation?"

The latest US News poll, says that 3/4ths of Republicans, sympathize with the January 6th rioters. And 78% feel that any investigation of 1/6, is a "waste of time." That's a tough audience, even if changing the minds of just 10% of that majority, could make a real difference.

Those the Committee is aiming for are, certainly, likely to be Independents, who do not yet look at Jan 6 as as real insurrection. No doubt, part of the strategy, is also to animate the Democratic base.

If this is so, do you think Ms. Hutchinson has decided to "spill the beans?"

I'm sure she has some very interesting stories to tell; for anyone, that is, who is willing to listen.

And so much for the separation of powers lol. This debacle shows the fatal flaw of the character of the US Government.

It is one of many. I continue to marvel at how the public fails to see the corruption in federal government.
