Perhaps the Trump group are more anti democratic /authoritarian than we realized..........As they deny the validity of electoral process and wanted t install , in an undemocratic way their authoritarian man. When his delusions/ & lies become their truths......... there is problem that is deeper than expected.
Democracy itself has been and is being attacked, and many can't seem to see it happening........or are wanting it to happen..Either way.. The country seems to be going backwards.& more divided / fractured all the time.

I partially disagree in that I don't believe this is a **new** condition. Racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia have always existed, is systemic and impacts those marginalized groups every moment of their lives. How can anyone argue at this point that the justice system is fair when the self-proclaimed "law and order" POTUS did nothing to engage back-up for the Capitol police officers and his supporters have sided with the criminals in an attack that was seen around the world? Is it really that hard to fathom they switch up the "rules" when the cops are killing black and brown people?

They applauded when Baby Bush said "we don't negotiate with terrorists" but blame Biden for Trump's negotiation with terrorists that left our soldiers and Afghani friends as their targets in a deal he forced upon the new Administration.

They scream about having X "shoved down their throats" and "being forced" to engage with <whatever group of people they hate> but everyone is supposed to rally behind them when they feel excluded and ostracized. Why can we not mention the very idea of some ways to make getting more difficult for people but they just successfully got to dictate what happens in a woman's womb? If the SCOTUS had confirmed justices that lied in the other direction, they would be raising all kinds of hell when they voted against their proclaimed stances on abortion.

Who is doing the "shoving down the throat"? It's not those of us that don't hate people because of the way they look, love and/or worship.

The only thing is that the people that cause those things to happen is they are making it more publicly known by defending, rationalizing, justifying and apologizing for Trump's actions/inactions. In summary, it's NEVER been "fair", they know it's not and they don't care because they get the PRIVILEGE of it being that way. Our descendants will be trying to scrub the orange stain off our country for decades.
