now that would be a refreshing change.

This is pure unadulterated made up nonsense-- except you do get some reprieve for "IMO" part of the equation .. and kudo's for avoiding the unforgivable sin .. unlike our friend Mitt ..

First off - "Who is Lucifer" - I suspect you mean "Satan" -- using the name interchangeably. If that is the case .. you would then have no clue what you are talking about -- as Satan does not act outside the wishes of the most High.

The unforgivable sin "abomination of desolation" is falsely representing God.. "Usurping the Logos" .. aka putting words in God's mouth..

"Rebel against the light and truth" - Good grief this is allegorical gibberish .. having no relationship to either the Truth - or the Light.

Think about what you are saying .. how does one rebel against Light ? -- this is just another way of saying rebel against God .. but how does one do that ? .. could mean anything .. pointless gibberish .. speaking words but saying nothing .. this is not Truth .. it is meaningless gibberish speak .. and that is not the Truth .. the Light .. the way.

Rebel against Truth -- same thing .. What Truth ? .. how would anyone know what on earth you are talking about .. If you don't know what the Truth is .. how can you knowingly rebel against it .. and you simply don't know what absolute Truth is .. nor do I .. so saying "rebel against Truth" is again a completely meaningless and pointless statement.

How is it that you figure that meaningless gibberish is "The Truth - The Way - The Light" ---

I haven't seen evidence for there being a god.

And you are correct. It says in several places in the Old and the New testament that God can be seen in all of creation. People who have never seen or heard of the Bible, the Mosaic Law, Jesus, can recognize God in the world around them.

    In Romans 2:14 Paul writes
For when the Gentiles, which have not the law, do by nature the things contained in the law, these, having not the law,
    are a law unto themselves:
Which shew the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness,

In other words, people who do not have any knowledge of the Bible (New or Old Testament) can recognize God in nature and their conscience and do what is Godly.

God speaks to all people including you, you just choose not to hear.

What do you assume I'm "seeking"? Are you suggesting I lost something?

If that were true, there wouldn't be such violent religion-based disagreement between the peoples of Earth, not just now but throughout history.

The truth perhaps? Or maybe he means a comforting self delusion? Faith, after all, isn't truth seeking, but belief regardless of evidence.

You said you hadn't found .. so I assumed you were seeking something .. reminds me of the U2 Classic .. "Still havn't found what I'm looking for"

I think everyone has been at least slightly interested in the truth of whether there is a god.

That's certainly not the same as what is expressed in the myriad gospel choirs.

Hey, I like the music from that age. And, not just the many works of Handle.

I don't see it as evidence of there being a god, though.

Because God exists and can be seen does not mean all people will accept God and live Biblically (both the New and Old Testament contain the "golden rule").

People reject God and create their own religions based on human interests. These are obviously going to create conflict because humans are selfish, and will create selfish religions which will require conflict.

Satan's most pervasive lie "you will be as gods" , everybody is their own god now. Bless your testimony here Battle Brother; it may be twisted by the lost that post rebuttals to us, but perhaps taken to heart by anonymous readers.. gotta hope!

Everybody recognizes the golden rule. That's not a badge of Christianity.

Yes, people create their own religions. If there were a method of detecting what religion was "right", there wouldn't be thousands from which to choose.

So... you are saying that "God" is basically the golden rule ? or rather The Logos = The Golden Rule
"Battle Brother" - do you testify as well that the Logos = The Golden Rule ?
"Satan's most pervasive lie" - you got all wrong .. not even sure that is one of the lies .. never mind the most pervasive. Did you want to take another stab ? .. or do you not know any of the big lies ?

Not everybody recognizes the Golden Rule. And not everybody interprets it as Westerners (and probably you) see it.

In Islam, treating another person as you want to be treated has implications you probably don't like. For example, moslems believe its so wrong to live outside of islam (which would be a sin and blaspheming god) that its better to be dead. That means its better to kill people who refuse to convert or leave islam than let them live in sin and blaspheming god.

When Jesus was asked what is the greatest commandment, he answered (Matthew 22:36)
‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ 40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”

The Golden Rule is fundamental to Christianity. Treat people fairly, honestly, don't force people to convert, don't steal or lie or cheat or murder, make right what is wrong. All of that goes hand in hand with loving and obeying God.

The issue is not detecting the correct religion, its refusing to accept it. There are thousands of religions because people reject God. A lot is due to misunderstanding and ignorance over what Christianity means. People think it has a lot of rules that they don't like so people create a religion tailored to their likes and dislikes.

Not at all. The golden rule is a rule for living, its a general statement of some of the 10 Commandments. As I just wrote:
When Jesus was asked what is the greatest commandment, he answered (Matthew 22:36)
‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ 40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”

I understand Golden Rule .. but you are now saying Jesus "The Logos" was/is not a representation of the Golden Rule .. that this rule was not from God directly . via the Logos .. emissary between man and God..

I realize the first post contained 2 meanings .. just looking for clarification on both here. "Golden Rule" - "God's Law" .. that you go on to describe as given by God .. giving Matt 22 as example which is fine .. but there are better :)

One such better passage and one of my favorites in the Sermon on the Mount - after giving numerous examples of the Golden Rule .. Matt 7:12 which notes "This Rule Sums up the Law and the Prophets" -

    Sums up the Logos.

So as you see .. I was agreeing with what I thought was your position that the Golden Rule .. is a representation of the Logos :)
