Not sure if you are being serious. Sure we would absolutely blow up the pipeline. We've done worse in the past. And I wouldn't care if we had blown up the pipeline. Midget in Russia tried to weaponize his energy and he can go **** himself. That gas comes with selling your soul. So it's a good thing that it's gone.

You should probably lower your expectations on that front. Most of the rest of us already have:

Most experts agree that USA is going to capitalize on this massively, gaining an increased market share of gas supplies to Europe.

That's just the Fox News and Trump Effect. It is no way reflective of how accurate the news media actually are.

Because I'm not a ****ing moron.

Germany and Russia were in talks about opening Nordstream 2 and the turbines to reopen Nordstream 1. If that happened, it would undermine the entirety of the US sanctions on Russia and open an avenue to end the war. Just imagine if Germany grew a set and opened the pipelines....as their people were protesting in the streets to do...just imagine the political fallout for the US.

So you think Russia did it? If they wanted to keep gas from flowing to Germany, they can just keep the valves shut...and of course...use the promise of cheap gas for leverage. Although those lines are majority owned by Gazprom, they are also partly owned by western companies. Sabotage lets the insurance companies off the hook, meaning Gazprom...and by extension...Russia is left holding the bag for the entire cost of repairs and lost gas (not to mention those western companies who are part owners).

Hell, why don't they just blow up the lines crossing "the ukraine" into the EU? Gas is still flowing through them.

This is about keeping "the ukraine" as the gas transit fee whore in place....which is controlled by the U.S....and cutting any direct alliance between Germany and Russia off at the knees.

If Germany was smart, they would go ahead and do a deal with Russia with both Nordstreams....and begin repairs asap. Done by Christmas.

Meanwhile, their market is crashing https://www.investing.com/news/stoc...-lower-at-close-of-trade-dax-down-171-2902189

It's got squat to do with Fox / Trump. Trust in mass media has been in decline for decades, long before Trump got involved in politics. And it's largely a mess of the media companies' own making. They're simply not honest, and more and more people are keying in on that fact.

Oh, they are honest. People just don't like the cable news bias, which actually began with Fox News.

They were seen as administration cheerleaders. I have no interest in debating the accuracy of that view. I'm just pointing out that distrust of cable news did not start with Fox.

So the pipeline starts in St. Petersburg. It's encased in concrete. Either a highly proficient demolition team, underwater drone, or torpedo/depth charges did this. So, you are saying Russia sabotaged it's own pipeline? Why would they travel 80-85% (my guess) of the length of the pipeline from St. Petersburg, close to Germany and into more NATO infested waters to conduct the sabotage? And to what benefit?

History repeating. Sounds a bit like what happened in Ukieville. We do remember the 2014 coup de ta. US State Department/CIA operation to create 3 neo-nazi factions. Svoboda, Trident and Right Sektor. To be agitators in peaceful protests, that kick-started the ousting of the current democratically elected president that did not want the IMF sh!t deal. Let's not forget to add that to the narrative.

Oh, granted, I'm sure there has always been a measure of distrust of the media. My main point, though, is that it's not necessarily because the media is inaccurate, but that people hate any media that doesn't support their view of things and that this has grown much worse in recent years. Right-wing media and its audience are increasingly divorced from the same reality that the rest of the country is in, at least on a range of political issues. We have too many media outlets with a vested interest in misinforming and dividing people as a business model, and the internet has seen journalistic standards tank as all manner of "alternative media" have arisen. What was once the stuff of tabloids is increasingly mainstream, seems to me.
