Russia lost Kharkiv and about to lose Kherson. The two largest cities. Doesn't look like Russia still has "most of what they took." Unless, of course, you, yourself, work for Russian mass media and are forced to repeat/promote Russian propaganda.

With the amount of land Russia loses each week, they are not digging deeper, but walking backwards.

land isn't the issue....its the lives that are being wasted because of that dozy wanker in the Kremlin....KIA is now huge after only 9 months and Russia basically has no care facilites for their WIA (other than vodka and pain killers) so a lot die later without being noticed...

Look at any map ? Russia has most of what it annexed .. Ukraine gain back perhaps 15%. Russia still controls all the territory along the black Sea to Odesa .. the counter offensive stalled out weeks ago .. and you the one seeming to be ingesting the propaganda .. that fact that you would bring it up rather laughable .. .. kind of like smelling one's on flatulent ..

In a short period of time, Ukraine has already lost military equipment in an amount comparable to what all European NATO countries currently have combined. It suffered total losses in manpower, which, according to various estimates, amount to about 20-25% of all combat units of the ground forces of the same Euro-NATOs. Ukraine could not carry out a single successful operation with really significant, and not symbolic, results. And it lost almost all the material base necessary for waging war. And all this on their own territory, with numerical superiority at the front, in defense, in fortified positions. In fact, Russians have already won the Ukrainian stage of the war, although hostilities here may continue for a long time.
Despite the fact that Ukraine WAS the strongest army in Europe. Much stronger than the German, British or French army.
That is, what the Russians call a "special military operation" and has not even grown in official status to a "local war" is, in fact, approaching in scale, if not a continental, then at least a regional war. And Russia is leading it in a defiant way of relaxing and with small losses. Yes, and sparing the citys, infrastructure, civilians and even enemy soldiers as much as possible. How did Putin say - "We have not started seriously yet" ?.
There is something to be afraid for intellectual generals in these Berlins and Parises of theirs. Moreover, the Kremlin has already turned up the "volume knob" a little by partial mobilization of personnel, the transfer of the military-industrial complex to a special regime and demonstrative territorial annexation "on an especially large scale." Actually, these generals just keep silent all the time - all the belligerent exclamations are issued by the chairmen-gynecologists, eco-activist chancellors and ministers-escort services.

Russia is in retreat in every major international forum
    Opinion by David Ignatius

". . . The Russian military has made some stunning mistakes on the battlefield — in Kyiv, Kharkiv and now Kherson. But Russia’s diplomats may have fared even worse. Russia is in retreat in every major international forum. Putin imagined this war would bring him greater global influence. It has instead been an epic disaster."

Well, the march is on to removing the invaders as Ukraine keeps on taking back land step by step. Just a matter of time. Probably all recaptured within a years time.

Considering that they're up against what is supposed to be the world's #2 army, I'd say that their retaking large cities and regions is pretty remarkable. As for losses, both sides are suffering. Look at how you have to import Iranian missiles and drones just to keep this up already.

Doesn't bring you to a tiktok clip of Russian news anchor explaining the harsh punishment regarding if he agrees with the position of abandoning Kershon leading to jail time as well as if he disagrees and thinks they should stay would also lead to jail time?

    Link works for me.

Basically, Reporters can be sent to prison for years if they do not publicly support Russia's military actions. Thus, there is no such thing as freedom of speech in Russia. Agree with Putin or else!!!

Yet, in the Kherson case, they could be jailed for supporting or disagreeing with this military retreat.
