    Interesting article
Republicans on the House Judiciary Committee are setting the stage..
The House Judiciary Committee sent five letters on Nov. 18 requesting testimony from certain Biden administration officials, including in the White House, the Department of Homeland Security, the DOJ, the FBI, and the Department of Education.

    Department of Justice

The testimony is likely to be in reference to the department’s handling of its investigations into Donald Trump because Republicans have accused the department of being politically biased against the former president. Republicans’ investigations are expected to home in on the raid of Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home, during which the FBI and DOJ obtained several boxes of classified White House documents.

    Ask Pelosi...
The democrat controlled House have a month and a half yet to get it done ...... after full 2 full years to get it done... why is it now a Republican problem, when they are not even at the table yet...

    Predictable as ever...
    Democrats in control.... investigations good
    Republicans in control....investigations bad

i expect these civil servants to honor subpoenas, to provide any requested documents. and to answer any serious questions truthfully.

i also expect that they know and follow all applicable laws.

if they do not I would expect them to resign or be fired.

i also expect nearly all liberals who post to this board to agree with me. oversight is part of the job.

sad, republicans plan to play games vs pass any real bills to address any of the issues they claimed existed

dems need to do like Trump did, claim executive privilege and don't answer them

there will never again be a time that someone like Hillary spends hours in front of Congress

Trump set a precedent, the House is now all bark and no bite

now Republicans can spend the next two years dealing with the same thing dems went through

what a morning! i disagree. this is one area that our officials can begin to bend precedents back to normal. if dem appointees are not following the law we need to know it and change it.

i also agreed with @AmericanNationalist in his thread on secularism.

if the House wants to pass a new law to add some teeth to their investigations, they can, sure Biden would sign it into law in case God forbid, Trump wins in 2024 or someone like Trump takes office in the future

a few laws need to be passed. i handled classified material for decades and never dreamed that i could lay it about the office or take it to the club to show my friends. chelsea manning and reality winner ( and the rosenburgs) seem to prove my point. so i guess we need a law on that as well.

Because it is not in the power of congressional Dems to stop inflation, it's in the hands of Jerome Powell and the international supply chain of products. The GOP Congress critters knew this full well, which is why they used inflation to campaign against the Dems, while not doing anything when they will be in office. Of course, they will be quick to take credit once inflation starts going down, just like they did under Reagan, when it was the Fed Chair nominated by JIMMY CARTER who brought inflation under control (plus, the folding of OPEC).

So why after 2 years, and with a month and a half to go.... why are the Democrats not looking into the corruption outlined by the Republicans above?..

So you are admitting you and the Dems/Left have no plans to do anything about it because you don't know how. Then leave it for others.

It will slow down the Biden administration and Congress from putting us further in debt if they're too busy covering up the crap they pulled over the past two years. The best thing Republicans can do for our economy right now is halting the Democrat's agenda. Also, slowing the influx of cheap illegal labor will help tremendously.

It's not. It's a first step towards possibly restoring the rule of law in Washington.

Well, actions speak louder than words. It seems that revenge investigations of Dems for political gain are top of the list. Proposals to bring inflation down? Nowhere to be found (if they had any, it's not as simple as crying "Biden did this").

Oh, of course, we know that they will block the increase of the debt ceiling, and shut down government again, at least temporarily, on the backs of government workers (we know these are lower life forms in the eyes of Trump supporters). Of course, for the base this seems like doing something about inflation, when in reality it hurts the economy and forces increased spending later on.

And how did you expect them to do that without veto proof majorities in both houses? For now I will settle for them doing what they can to reestablish oversight of the increasingly stalinist administrative.

Kind of like the Democrats leaving a turd in the bowl and not flushing, then start screaming someone left a turd floating in the bowl...

I would settle that they play the Democrats game... start select committees and investigate crimes.... put it on public forums and TV.... the heck with trying to get anything passed... it ain't gonna happen.... but putting it out in the COURT OF PUBLIC OPINION sure has worked for the Democrats..... and that has been the game they have been playing....

I see nobody has addressed the fact the DEMOCRATS have spent their time in fake impeachments and illegit and illegal committees and NOT "making it THEIR priority to bring down inflation and make everyday's Americans lives better"" the last 2 years...
