the key phrase here is that they remain legal, hence the article implies that at some point the GOP will take aim at that too. But there is a federal judge in Texas who may take the plan B and abortion pill off the market based on a lawsuit by pro life activists who are using the Dobbs decision to do just that.

The problem with the GOP is the hard-line pro-life groups who literally don't want any of this. And it is a matter of when, not if, the GOP will go after this as well.

Also consider that the GOP want a review of Loving v Virginia and Plyler v Doe to be decided along the same lines of the Dobbs decision. That too will eventually happen in lawsuit after lawsuit.

 

Because my opinion is that they took the Roe v Wade decision, ignored most of it, and gave a carte blanch rule that the states can decide. I don't think this falls under the 10th amendment because it will eventually violate the 14th amendment in the process. We already see that with 8 states that have total ban on abortion, as well as a push for a nationwide ban that does not include any exceptions per the pro-life groups that are now pushing the House to make it so.

 

There is no right to murder, and redefining human beings as something other than human beings that you might kill them with impunity as Hitler did Jews and the Klan did with blacks is just about as evil as it gets.

This is known as Democracy in action. Sometimes the results always aren't want you prefer. For years opponents of abortion have had to live with Roe vs. Wade. The tide has turned in their favor. I can remember living during a time when abortion was not legal in my home state and I traveled to NY with a friend that wanted an abortion. It was definitely an inconvenience, but abortion will never be banned nationally as long as states like NY and CA are around. It's still too early to predict how the dust will settle on this but I don't see gloom and doom and a return to coat hanger days.

It's not democracy, it is the separation of Powers, aka Federalism, or Constitutional Republic, decided by the Supreme Court of the land that interprets laws that may or may not fit the Constitutional restraints in said document.

Ever since Roe V Wade was decided, pro-life advocates have been wanting Roe V Wade to be overturned. Their first hope came in 1981 when Sandra Day O'Connor was nomimated and confirmed in the Supreme Court. Then it was Robert Bork, then the nominations by Bush, and finally Trump. Now, these same groups of people are having their sights set on LGBTQ, contraceptives, etc. They are still at it, and why I said it is a matter of when, not if, they want to challenge even Loving v Virginia and Plyler v Doe.

I think what will happen was similar to what happened in gay marriage. In that scenario, you have states, 13 of them, not accepting gay marriage even if gay marriage was legal in another state. You will have the same thing with a minority of states saying it is not legal, even going after mothers who flee the state to have an abortion, even a medically necessary abortion, and then try to charge them or the physicians for that crime. Texas, especially the AG of Texas and the Lt. Governor of Texas wants that to happen. And that creates another problem. and because of that, in one or two states, even miscarriages are now going to have to be "investigated" by the police to determine if it was a true miscarriage or was it an abortion. I think you really need to see what the hard line pro-life groups really want in the end. And it aint pretty, even here in Texas.
