OK, the first thing you need to do when making some radical accusation is to check to see if it could even remotely be considered true.

    Do your work.

I'm sorry to say but that is full on stupidly. Rather it's pretending to say something intelligent without bothering to actually use an intelligent thought, just catch phrases.

It isn't an accusation. It's the truth.

I have NOT proposed banning ANY gun.

    Your accusations are NOT appreciated.

Anyone who supports gun control is supporting gun bans.

    Well, that's obviously ridiculous.

Oh wait. Are you opposed to background checking?

And of course that's your snarky way of covering your ridiculous argument and very narrow approach and correlation in regards to firearms and child deaths..

Any time someone offers other more deadly reasons for children dying, it's ignored :) Pretty obvious at this point, that the real concern with you and the other commenters is that of the AR15, while any and all other data on "Greater" child death is hardly that important.

No, it's a totally honest question.

Discussion is pointless if we're not even talking about the same issue.

As for your second paragraph, America is pretty darn big. We absolutely DO address more than one issue at a time.

For most first world countries, the #1 and #2 cause of death among those 1 to 19 are motor vehicles and CANCER.

In America, the #1 is GUNS.

In other first world countries, guns comes in at the 9th to 15th leading cause.

In my view, that is a serious charge against America.

So far, you haven't been able to answer questions concerning what issue to discuss.

Not here to answer questions, here to point out disingenuous bullshit, and I'm in need of a much larger shovel :)

In my view, children's deaths by gun are an issue that warrants serious attention.

In part, it is justified by who it is that is getting killed, of course.

BUT, it is also because this is something that has been changing RAPIDLY!

In 2013, the rate was about 3 per 100,000.

In 2020, the rate was 5.6 per 100,000.

This is way more than 10X what the average of other first world countries. In fact, just the CHANGE we've seen in the last few years is way more than the TOTALS of others.

And, most of that growth started in 2018 - showing a serious spike that has taken us above any level since before 2000.

Something changed. And, in a serious way. It wasn't something baked into American society from some historic time.

What was it, and how can we change it back?

    We need to know.

    (Same cite as above.)

No it isn't. You use it as an excuse to moan about gun control. That's less useful than thoughts and prayers.

Why don't you ever talk about the serious issue and the solutions? Why do you just pointlessly moan about gun laws that would have no effect.
Fire district attorneys that don't prosecute criminals. Mock relentlessly anyone who ever talked about defund the police. Focus on the cultural element.

I've tried to talk about these things with you before and you won't have it.

    Instead just moan about nonsense.

There is a fine line between genius and Insanity you know that right?

    That's the standard leftist approach.

Mass shooting occurs that the news media really wants to talk about. You left this will go into a flurry of moaning about nonsense, until some bakery decides not to sell key to get a couple or something and they'll forget about it until the next time.

    Cycle and repeat.

    False.

This is NOT one isolated even in an otherwise satisfactory situation.

Look at data I post. It has NOTHING AT ALL to do with single events.

How nice for you. But, I am afraid I have some bad news.

    DC v. Heller
    McDonald v. City of Chicago

    And the coup-de-gras....

    NYSRPA v. Bruen

Note that each of the above are links to the cases that will explain to you in excruciating detail why your wish will not and cannot come true. AR-15s, along with virtually if not literally everything you listed are protected by the 2nd Amendment, and it is incorporated to all government branches, including Federal, State, and Local, and allows individuals, regardless of their participation in a militia (which virtually half the country is, anyway), and it applies to all weapons in common use for lawful purposes, inside and outside of your home.

Which is fancy lawyer speak for "You can't touch this!" You may want a lot of things banned, but the good ol' Constitution (you remember that, right??) says they are fundamental human rights.

    I'm sorry... So sorry... NOT!!!
