Israel has legitimate security concerns with what people within the Iranian government have been doing in the areas surrounding Israel for decades.

Security concerns can be negotiated.

Religious concerns, such as: this is the chosen land, or infidels should never be permitted a state on these lands, cannot be negotiated.

I hear that's what Israel's enemies want, for them to get "bogged down" fighting in Gaza and for this to potentially stir up more problems for them elsewhere and ultimately undermine the normalization process between Israel and Saudi Arabia. Or something like that.

By your absurd logic, if we'd stopped pouring weapons into the USSR in WWII, the Soviets would have stopped dying. In either case, you're talking about allowing the invading aggressor to win and take over the land in question.

It makes no sense to claim that our aiming Ukraine's defenders is leading to deaths in Ukraine. How about the *******s who have invaded it withdraw from Ukraine and stop killing Ukrainians? They started it, they can and should end it.

It's also interesting to see that the Russian propaganda line now is to try to compare Ukraine to Hamas.

I don't think they will get bogged down. Hamas has paragliders while Israel has fighter jets. This is not even remotely a close fight.

Iran has no means of getting supplies to them. Tanks...heavy weapons...nothing. The Gaza stripe is easy to isolate. America will insure it's isolated and nobody gets involved. This is going to be a steam roll.

 

Jew isn't a race. It's a religion. A black person could be a Jew. You can describe it as being an "ethnic group" that's based on religious doctrine and nothing more. I think I accidently referenced the west bank in one of my posts but it seems to be the case that in this instance, the problem of Hamas stems from the Gaza strip. Israel is gonna either remove all of it or take permanent control of a chunk of it.

But they are not. A few passages of what makes a Jew a Jew in their religious books does not make them a race. It's a religion. An Asian can be Jewish.

Now if jews don't consider that Asian to be "truly" Jewish just because that person is of a "different race", then by definition, wouldn't they be racist?

I hope you are right but I worry about urban combat. I suppose Israel might settle for a blockade though as leveling the city, as Russia has done over and over for the last year and a half in Ukraine, seems off the table.

 

That would be the best solution for Israel's security. I doubt Israel would actually destroy a city though. They are not Russian fascists after all.

No, your logic of equating the consequences of not arming the Soviets vs the Nazi regime (which had declared war on us, and many of our allies, while Russia today has not), with not arming the Ukrainians is ludicrous on many levels.

The Ukraine and Israel situations are similar because they both involve states with legitimate security concerns (Russia and Israel) over other state actors supplying weapons to their borders.

We should make major security concessions to Russia in Europe. But we have the moral high ground here, and thus an opportunity in negotiations in forcing Russia to give us assurances on Iran and Syria. We will talk North Korea later, as that's going to involve mainly China.
