Hundreds of thousands of Palestinians in Gaza have already been left displaced and homeless. Among them will be many who (regardless of their sympathies) wouldn't have bothered to pick up guns and join Hamas to defend against a ground invasion. Now, they have no where else and nothing else to do and they will fill the ranks of those who will be actually fighting an Israeli ground invasion. Militarily, blowing up large buildings and many of the other buildings the Israelis are targetting brings no advantage to the Israelis in terms of facilitating their ground invasion. In fact, the reverse. The best type of air support for a side that has absolute air superiority is certainly nothing like what the Israelis are doing. This is just a terror campaign against a people already left without much to fear. The Israeli ground invasion will not go well for them because their tactics are clearly not driven by military objectives but political and propaganda ones. This is going to get very ugly. That is my take for now.

 

Gush Katif was a Jewish settlement in Gaza. It was dismantled, along with all Jewish settlements in Gaza, in 2005. The adjacent airport stayed where it was, and it's still in Gaza.

You totally missed my point. The airport was badly damaged, making it unusable, because the Palestinian Authority waged war against Israel. This war is known as the second Intifada. The airport permitted Arafat to move freely between Ramallah and Gaza, something Israel couldn't allow. Wikipedia doesn't tell a tenth of the real story.

My source puts the events in proper context. You missed that.

The air and naval blockade didn't exist until after the violent takeover of Gaza by Hamas in 2007, years after the events that led to the destruction of the international airport. The future blockade played no role in these events, unless Israelis have a time machine.

Israel is God's chosen people's promised land. This is what they know and they will die for it if they have to. The Jews lived there long before the nomadic Palestinians moved in when the Jews were force to when they broke God's convenance. Egypt imprisoned them until Moses led them out and since then the Jews have wondered "throughout the desert" until 1948 when they started returning.This is a prophecy fulfilled.

 

This is the same type of terrorism and behavior that Russia conducts against Ukraine. Hamas is as barbaric as is Russia. On second thought Hamas and Russia are in competition for which one can be the worst terrorist. Scum turds equal scum turds.
