Judging the physical actions (which includes the speech and writings of another person) of other people is not judging the spiritual being of that person. And, YES, Christians are given the authority to judge 'all things".

Unfortunately, it seems that too many "Christians" leave the words of Christ behind when they leave their church building. Many Christians are the most judgemental, narrow minded and unforgiving people on earth!

 

Not just Christians, anybody who is self-righteous and can only see their own standards they expect everybody else but themselves to obey.

Yes it is, when one claims to believe in civility, which he clearly claimed to believe in, then you must be civil at all times, even if somebody is being rude and crude to you. If you claim to believe in a certain rule, then you must hold yourself to the same rules to demand everybody else obey.

He didn't do any of that.

He also claimed to be the sole monitor of people's behavior and will correct anybody whom he deems violates his rules.

So I challenged him and he fell apart.

He didn't obey his own rules he claimed he believed in, that's what makes him a hypocrite.

If you believe in tolerance, you tolerate other people and allow them to express themselves in their own ways, even if they have an unfortunate way of expressing their opinions, or in an unpopular way, and towards both atheists and Christians, not just Christians or atheists. You don't get to pick and choose, but all self righteous people do. Every single one of them pick and choose who they want to tolerate, and that is not tolerance.

Note, I do not believe in tolerance. Tolerance is nothing more than a sham to me.

But if people claim to be self righteous, as he did, I will challenge them.

You can call it trolling all you want.

All self righteous people always fall apart when they are challenged on their own terms. Every single one of them.

If he was civil to me instead of getting upset and insulting me, I wouldn't have carried it as long as I did and would've dropped it and probably would've apologized to me.

But all self righteous people will do is end up resorting to insulting other people back if they are challenged in any way shape or form.

Why is it Christians are the only ones labeled as such when really everyone does it? It is because they use the "G" word that they somehow are lesser people?

 

No, not everyone, although it can certainly seem that way.

And no, it certainly isn't Christians alone. For example, liberals are often self righteous jerks as well.

They always talk a good game of tolerance, but use a word like girl they go nuts because a person who uses that word girl is somehow oppressing and initializing all women (or females) everywhere and so the word must never be used again or the person who used it is a misogynist, or they use lots of other insults. And that is not tolerance itself either just self righteous jerking off.

There are many other examples of liberal self righteousness too, as well as lots of other forms of political self righteousness.

 

Let me clarify, anytime you take a moral position you become self righteous, UNLESS you take the position that a higher authority says you are wrong. For example, if you break the law of the land you can say that you have transpressed against the state. Or if you are a person of faith and believe God has commanded us certain things you can say that they have transgressed against God. However, to say you THINK someone is being immoral without referencing a higher authority has sutomatically become self righteous.

The kicker is that I believe we were all wired with a moral code, so we all do it even though we may not know by what authority we speak or even if we get out wires crossed and incorrectly pass out judgement. I will admit though that those of religion are often more sure of themselves than those who are not at times for good or for bad. For this I think they are attacked more frequently.
