Santorum buys 3 year old daughter NRA membership

Is it just me, or is this disgusting? Joining an innocent little child to an organization that worships instruments of death? And a girl no less, there's a good chance she won't even be interested in guns.

(CNN) – Rick Santorum unveiled some new details about his three-year-old daughter, Bella, while speaking at the National Rifle Association's annual meeting in St. Louis on Friday.

"(My wife) Karen and I are life members of the NRA, and we wanted to announce today that…now Bella is a life member of the NRA, too," Santorum said. "I hope it is a long life."

Good for Rick. This child likely will not live long with her horrible condition. It would be nice to know as a kid that I was an NRA Member. This inspires me, perhaps I should join my 10 year old son. We went shooting on our trip out to Las Vegas this week at the North Las Vegas gun park. My son has a .22 pistol that he does well with. But, he also shot a 9mm semi-auto, and a .357 Colt. He did well and has been shooting for 3 years now.

He is not quite read for the .45 Glock 21 which I use.

 

For the record, I fully support each Americans right to own a firearm, and have no personal issue with the NRA.

But in fairness to the OP, I think this speaks to something other than that. To me it's just goofy to subscribe a terminally ill 3 year old, to a lifetime membership to the NRA... and bring media attention to it no less.

The guy is just weird as hell IMO.

 

Santorum wasn't speaking to you anti-gun nuts. He was speaking to the NRA who by the way does not worship guns but they do hold freedom and the constitution in very high regard. If you had any sense you would too. As for his daughter being a life time member, good for them, good for her. I hope she has a long life as well. I think it was his way of putting his money (not taxpayers money but his own, something libs are unfamiliar with) where his mouth was and support the NRA. Which i whole heartedly agree with him on and since its his OWN MONEY, more power to him.

You might give a thought to the low rate of taxes that Mr Biden and Obama paid on their taxes and the embarrassingly paltry sum that they supposedly give to charity. abysmal.

 

Clueless is the fact Romney accepted NO MONEY for being Governor of MASS for 4 years.
Obama not only is getting RICH/ wealthy with BOOK sales.. on his service to his country ..he is screwing most of us while doing it..
Giving 22%to charity while paying less taxes than his Secretary making $95,000 per year is note worthy..

Number one it is a donation to a an org he favors. And two, guns are not just for murder. Last I checked shooting is a sport on and off the firing range. Hunting is still enjoyed by many across the country.

Some right-wingers never survive the indoctrination by their parents.
One of them took his young son to a gun show a while back and let the kid try his hand at an automatic pistol but when the kid pressed the trigger the gun recoiled around during the burst and he ended up shooting himself in the head.

 

The 2nd amendment is supported by far more than just republicans and the teaparty. How does being a member of the NRA support death? That sounds like the constitution can only protect rights you deem worthy. While I do not personally like some rights the constitution protects I do not try in force my opinion on others. That is authoritarian, and you might be suprised by how many people support that right from the democratic side.

 

Would you have a link? Gun shows do not usually have live fire and full automatic weapons are not common.
