Mitt Romney’s prep school classmates recall pranks, but also troubling incidents

BLOOMFIELD HILLS, Mich. — Mitt Romney returned from a three-week spring break in 1965 to resume his studies as a high school senior at the prestigious Cranbrook School. Back on the handsome campus, studded with Tudor brick buildings and manicured fields, he spotted something he thought did not belong at a school where the boys wore ties and carried briefcases. John Lauber, a soft-spoken new student one year behind Romney, was perpetually teased for his nonconformity and presumed homosexuality. Now he was walking around the all-boys school with bleached-blond hair that draped over one eye, and Romney wasn’t having it.

“He can’t look like that. That’s wrong. Just look at him!” an incensed Romney told Matthew Friedemann, his close friend in the Stevens Hall dorm, according to Friedemann’s recollection. Mitt, the teenage son of Michigan Gov. George Romney, kept complaining about Lauber’s look, Friedemann recalled.

A few days later, Friedemann entered Stevens Hall off the school’s collegiate quad to find Romney marching out of his own room ahead of a prep school posse shouting about their plan to cut Lauber’s hair. Friedemann followed them to a nearby room where they came upon Lauber, tackled him and pinned him to the ground. As Lauber, his eyes filling with tears, screamed for help, Romney repeatedly clipped his hair with a pair of scissors...

OK... so the Washington Post supposedly found some dirt on Romney, something that happened 50 years ago, in a skrul. 50 years ago! WTF? I assume, they're just as diligently looking for the dirt on Obama? What do you all think? Where's Obama's skrul and college grades? Where's his transcripts? Where's anything on Obama except his composite girlfriend? I'll tell you where - the media would not touch Obama's past with a 10-foot pole. He's toxic, the Chosen One...

 

These kinds of attacks are going to just make things worse for Obama. So Mitt did what in high school? What did Obama do? Oh yeah....umm..don't ask.

There's another thread on the story about Mitt; what I find incrédulos here is that media still has no interest in investigating Obama; nor did they 4 years ago. What about developing scandal (I hope) with the shyster's selective service registration card? Does not anyone find it a just a little strange the new rule on the destruction of government recorde came to life just days after sheriff Arpaio announced he was looking into it? Will main-street media cover this curious coincidence?

Now me, I think that Mitt doing something stupid 50 years ago is irrelevant. But apparently you still think that whatever dirt you have never been able to find about Obama 50 years ago is relevant.

By now many of you know that the W Post made the whole thing up. One person that was named as being there and being "long bothered" by the incident told ABC that he wasn't there and never heard about any such thing happening until the Post reported it. The supposed victim, who is dead, never mentioned being held down and having his hair forcibly cut my Mitt to his brother or his three sister so they say it never happened.

It may be that Dan is up to his old tricks. The liberal media thinks that they can tell the public anything and when they are shown to be lying a few liberal fools will never believe that Mitt didn't scalp this poor homo hippy boy.

I like that Romney didn't do more than apologize for what ever happened if it offended anyone. Newt would be half way to the moon if they had told this BS on him.

 

I agree it is irrelevant. Now, media is going all out to find an pour dirt all over Mitt and his wife. Now, why is not media going all out to look for a dirt on Obama and Michelle? It is all there for them to pick at... hm... you tell me?

Of course when a couple of Obama's girlfriends actually went on record recently, that was news, and the media did pick up on it. Unfortunately for the dirt throwers they didn't say anything bad.

Dems are going to get bullied this year (sorry couldn't resist). I mean really? High school pranks is all they have on Romney.
