Women with Curves

My wife is 5' tall. She weighs 105. That's hardly obese. But because she plays a LOT of tennis, she has curves. She does not look like the woman on the right at all.

I'm saying men shoudn't have their standards set for them by women who have the bodies of 10 year old boys with breasts attached to them.
Do you dispute this?

 

I agree with this. Good looking and sexy are even different. Some women appeal to something intangible in men without even trying and it's not about looks.

The Germans have a term for large, beautiful women - zaftig -- well-rounded, voluptuous.

Somewhere there's a line between "fat" and "BBW" - but I'm not sure where that is.

I guess beauty is truly in the eye of the beholder!

 

Consider the culture in 1982. Wasn't it all Jane Fonda and Olivia Newton John exercising each other to death (keep it clean), lycra/spandex, jogging, exercise classes, post-Saturday Night Fever...everyone was into exercise.

Today, what is the culture? Food and sitting at a desk, eating to deflect boredom and keep yourself going but unable to move around due to the nature of modern work.

How many super celebs are getting there on a physical fitness ticket? Even action heroes aren't what they used to be, privately doing weird stuff to achieve levels of fitness instead of promoting activity that is accessible and inspirational to normal people.

Excuse me while I fall off my feckin chair at the blinkered sexism of these comments. ...it's hard to believe, really it is. Women have put up with men not caring what they look like for ever. Women are not attracted to huge beer bellies, by the way. In case men were not aware of it.

 

Ah, the origin of the phrase "Rubenesque". Keep in mind, back then there were the rich and the poor a little in between (kinda like where we're headed). So skinny meant poor. Rubinesque was a sign of wealth.
But even in Early America, women who were built like Marilyn were favored over stick figures.

The point of my OP is not to criticize women who are thin. Especially if that's their natural metabolism at work. Instead, I'm critical of the impossible standards set for them by other women and to point out that those standards aren't necessarily what men prefer.
I love that Beyonce, Chakira, Kardashian, J-Lo and other celebs have come up over the years offering a look that men find wildly sexy - and that informs women they don't have to look like Keira Knightly to be found attractive.

 

I think women worry too much about weight and sizes. I think women basically want to compete with other women and most of them could care less what men think. Women underestimate men's desire for sex. Even an overweight sexy woman will be more appealing to a man than than a woman with 'perfect' weight and proportions. It is attitude more than anything else aside from being morbidly obese which is another discussion.

 

And the same exact thing can be said about men......

What is attractive about huge beer bellies hanging over their belts? Or just plain overweight all around? Yet they wonder why they can't find a woman.......

May I ask how tall you are? If you're around 5'6"-5'7".... size 14 would suit you...

Will we "hook up" with such a girl, especially after drinking? Sure we will.

But high value males will leave the next day and never call again.

The fact is that the larger the woman, the less attractive men she will gain for long term relationships and the more chance that truly attractive males will simply bang her and leave the next day, never to be heard from again.

 

I don't like men with huge beer bellies and nor do I like men with 6 packs. I like a bit of flesh but not so much I can't wrap my arms around them!

I am around 5'4. I may be slightly on the chubby side but I do not believe I am fat, buy any means. By Australian standards, I am normal/average.

I find any woman above a size 10 as unattractive without some kind of othe redeeming proportional feature like large breasts.

 

A size ten in the US would be around a size 16. If a size 0 is a size 6 here, then a size ten would equal ten sizes more. A size 16 is a decent size.

 

Fashion designers are the most insecure professionals in the world. Deep down they know they are putting out crap so they need to find the most attractive women in the world to display their bogus products. You put anything on Miranda Kerr or Heidi Klum and it will look awesome. If they want to impress us with their designing skills they need to create a bikini that would make Susan Boyle look like a princess.

 

The competition between women is for men and not each other. They try to be as universally desired as possible and that is how they judge each other.

I don't hate men. I don't care for a variety of reasons. I'm married, it's nobody's business what I look like other than the man I have the contract with. Secondly, men are easy. I'm onto it. You don't have to work to attract one. Thirdly, I don't care what anyone thinks, not just men. Fourthly, if you attract men it disrupts the company. I go out to see my friends and talk their heads off, not to listen to some dufus spinning stupid patter we've heard a thousand times before. Finally, men don't tend to notice the kind of details that women do. Women appreciate it if you put an effort into your appearance. I have a happy feeling even looking at my friends when they look gorgeous and I don't let the team down by not putting some effort into it myself.

Rather interesting for women to read what guys think.
Curvy and healthy is, hopefully, in fashion at all times. What should really matter is that women are confident and happy with what and how they are, instead of giving in to fashion requirements and men's desires.
Women are a complete package, love it or leave it. Yup, that's the way I feel.

I didn't say all women but am only speaking on the patriarchal system as a whole. Women don't dress for each other because they are not trying to win each others' affection. They are only in competition to see who can be the most universally attractive.

 

Why do people whine about feminism without ever understanding or studying the discipline?
