Me Thoughts on Birthdays.
Personally I never mention mine.Because it makes no difference.
I bet Miss Smarty couldn't say what Birthdate mine is.Because I never mention
such unimportant things.
God will never,hold one's birthday as an accomplishment.It has literally nothing to
do with the worth of an individual.Once one comprehends the merit of humanity
overall,Birthdays' are more distraction than anything else.Being Born is truly
a celebration and Death is a the saddest of all days in a mortals existence.
Weddings are wonderful and celebratory.But a Birthday is just a mark on the
calendar that Mortals feel obliged to recognize.
Nothing wrong with that,but it really has little overall import.No mortal will or
should ever be judged based on any Birthday.
The greatest gift another mortal can pass on to other mortals is their
concern and compassion.So in that vein a Birthday is important.
But then a Priest is required to perform that task every day of his Life.
Can a Pet understand or appreciate their own Birthday or that of their master.
In this Birthdays make Seals of us all.

 

I blame society for making young people stress about their ages and birthdays, its the governments fault, for making us all depressed.

 

Pretty deep thinking about something you can't avoid, Foolie. But you're right.. I don't think we've ever celebrated your b'day. Bummer... think of all the cake & ice cream you've missed.

B'day tradition in the south... pin a dollar bill to your shirt and everybody you meet that day is supposed to add to it. I've never seen a white girl try it, but maybe I'll be the first tomorrow when I got birthday shopping. Somebody dare me. LOL

 

i pinned a food stamp on my kids shirt for her bday, used all my ssi welfare dollars for that month.

Y'know I knew somethin was Fishy.Because I don't recall you ever preppin'
others pre-Birthday.But I don't remember when other's Birthdays are so I was
hoping that when I said Happy Birthday it was actually yer B'day the other day.
Whew ... that was more wordy than necessary.
But I felt you acted different this year.Like you were instructing us towards
yer Birthday.
Gee I wonder why.Couldn't be that{ a certain someone } is starting to show signs of aging.
Happens to all us ... No biggie.

it looks like an early winter for us. I have had Ice on the car every morning and it is supposed to get down to 26 and 29 this weekend in the mornings.

...........the compulsory nature to return once one has posted to see if there are responses in kind. I hope this isn't the start of a habit I'll eventually need to break!

Smarts, yes I am still engaged to the same guy. We bought an awesome house last year and plan to buy another in the next year or so depending upon my career. I am still writing my dissertation although I should be finished and officially PhD by this time next year (Lord a-willin'). Hopefully you'll catch up with FB and can see what I have been up to on all fronts. For now, it's best summarized as healthy and very happy!
