1 out of 9 black American men between the ages of 19 and 34 are CURRENTLY in jail or prison. That's an incarceration rate of 7.5 times as often as the equivalent white American male. So the big question is - why? Is it the inherent criminality of the negro? Is it the legacy of a broken sub-culture leading to high crime rates? Is it subconscious racism that gives white males parole while imprisoning black males? Or is it something else? Come on, people; this is a real topic about a real issue.
It's kind of a combination of those factors and many more. It's a pretty sad state of affairs that shows no signs of changing within the century.

The first wave of blacks came to Chicago from Southern cities like Memphis, Birmingham, Atlanta and so on... They were educated and worked hard .. establishing a blck middle class and a thriving community on the Southside that included black professionals, merchants, music , restaurants .. These people moved pretty quickly into white middle class neighborhoods. The second wave to arrive in Chicago were from the rural south .. were largely illiterate and had no skills beyond farming.. They also had a tradition of large families to provide farm labor. That second group are still stuck .. and there are NO men .. no fathers. Boys don't see thir dads going to work, nor their neighbor's dads going to work as firemen or cops or bankers or teachers etc. By age 15 they are looking around for role models and men to emmulate.. the drug dealers, pimps and so on. I have discussed this PBS special with several black friends who came from that Chicago middle class and are now returning to Southern cities.. I think its worth watching.. Infact, I wish every 14 year old black boy in America could watch it.
Why? If they committed a crime and they are convicted for such, then they are criminals and they belong in Jail. The color of their skin doesn't make the crime anymore or less criminal than the overwhelming rate of White Men screwing little Boys in the asses.
The very small amount of liberal white fairies who do screw little boys in the ass gets overshadowed by the fact that those lib white men get their own asses reamed in the prison by huge black men. You might say....'what cums around goes around".
It is definitely cultural. When it is easier and more profitable to sell drugs than go to work when you feel you are oppressed, whether true or not, other crime follows. When gun crime is 50% black when they are only about 13% of the population you know there is a problem. It is also mostly young men that are the problem in any society and the unemployment rate is highest in black communities. If young mens ambitions could be turned, that would change but that is not something that will come from the white community, it will have to come from within.
You would need to direct that question to any and all liberal girly men out there. You know, the types who are already card carrying members of NAMBLA (North American Man-boy Love Association). Let me know of your findings.
Conservative lawmakers are responsible for this, they don't support redistribute of wealth, for more welfare, so they end up oppressed and in prison. That is racism from ignorance, europeans have more welfare and less crime, so their either racist or ignorant, the conservatives who support prison rates for black males.
Too complicated!!!! Isolate a group and give it an identity, make that identity contrary to the norm, make the norm aggressively stereotype the isolated group. What happens is an artificial paradigm where groups behave within the created expected norms. Exceptional individuals often escape but the majority is trapped within the narrow social expectations laid out by previous generations. So...... Black men in prison most likely need to be there because they are dangerous. But most likely this is the case because white people created the system.
Many young Black men are extraordinarily aggressive. As a result everyone is afraid of all young Black men including other young Black men. The only thing one can do is to avoid them in order to minimize the risk of getting hurt.

For that to happen the nuclear Black family would have to be restored among the African American underclass. The govt. would have to be replaced by husbands and fathers.

Yes, avoid them we must, and that is the very reason why I am a huge advocate for peaceful segregation of the races. To stay an integrated society is to nurture our suicidal demise. You might have noticed that there is strict segregation of the races inside our federal prisons. Any prisoner who strays from their race boundaries inside the prison walls goes from a dead man walking to a dead man with his throat slit. Minority infested ghettos or urban centers/neighborhoods are hotbeds for racial crime. Notice that every one of these centers of racial crime come from liberal blue state areas. It just doesn't make sense to avoid the truth.
There are several classes of African Americans. About half of the Black population falls into the Underclass. It is the young males from the underclass who a threat to life and limb. I really don't see any practical alternative to avoiding them for the sake of one's safety. They seem to have adopted a form of nihilism that permits them to do anything to other people, including each other.

We set up a boxing ring at my Army bootcamp and at my base camp in Vietnam, and I was the heavyweight champion at both venues weighing in at a svelte 205 lbs. When I came back from my military tour to the states I joined a boxing club in Boston Mass where we had 3 round fights with all comers and all wannabe heroes. I fought there up to the age of 50 without ever losing a single fight. Granted, they were only 3 round bouts but none of my opponents lasted the full 3 rounds. So take your nonsense about hiding behind a computer and stick it up yer filthy arse. All you southside jonnies are known for is murdering other ghetto punks. Come to me when we finally grow a set, fella.
when coaching wrestling years ago... a black wrestler was always super aggressive at the start of the match. Often times, overwhelming younger wrestlers and pinning them within the first round. My better wrestlers learned how to wrestle against that style by a rope-a-dope method realizing that kid would spend himself in the first round or two. Then, in the third period, even a dorky white kid, could beat that black wrestler. Of course, this wasn't always the case as you had some really good black wrestlers.... Those were the ones that could go balls to the wall in the 3rd period just as well as they could in the first period. Black wrestlers were super aggressive for the most part. Stereotypes occur for a reason. They stem from observable behaviors over long periods of time. FWIW - I had a few white wrestlers that wrestled that way too. But there are also a bunch of white kids who listen to rap and wear their pants sagging, too.

There is no culture of commerce, industry, work ethics, hard work, or inventiveness. The culture of African America is completely anti-social.
