Where are these "morals and values" I keep hearing about? And for the record..

"Praying" Is not a moral or a value
"Going to church" is not a moral or value
"Having faith" is not a moral or a value

Just my opinion here as faith, morals and values are subjective IMO.

I do not connect praying with morality. I could pray for the death of an innocent... certainly that would not be moral. Or I could pray for the strength to go out and amend a harm I have done to another... in this case the prayer would not be moral but the action following the prayer certainly could be seen as moral and or the demonstration of a value.

As for Church, I am not a Church going man... kind of feel like a wolf in sheep's clothing on the exceedingly rare times I enter a Church. But a Church, Mosque or Synagogue are just buildings to me. Certainly morals and virtues are taught with in them, but just because one goes for example to a Church does not make that person moral and or virtuous. Dennis Rader an American serial killer was a Church going man during the time he killed.

To me having faith is an action... and I admit right up front that I suck at it. Morals and values are represented by acting on ones faith rather than just talking about it.

Again, just my opinion and most certainly not the only way to look at morals and values when applied to faith.

= "Two things fill the mind with ever-increasing wonder and awe, the more often and the more intensely the mind of thought is drawn to them: the starry heavens above me and the moral law within me." The word "bestirnt" instead of "besternt" (=starry) gives me always the feeling Kant thought about an intelligent mind behind the stars. And Kant also said in the same year: "Morality is not properly the doctrine of how we may make ourselves happy, but how we may make ourselves worthy of happiness."

Since Hitler I don't see any big sense any longer in "moral" because "moral" seems to be what others have to do so they can be killed much more easy.

I'm sure I have something in me what I would not call "moral law" but perhaps "open heart" or "source of love" or "sea of truth" ...

Perhaps a concrete question: Do you think someone is able to be happy if he has a moral law inside?

I'm telling you guys. "Thou shalt not kill" and "Thou shalt not steal" are really solid. And you would be appalled at the number of Christians, etc. killing you and stealing from you if not for those religions.

Yes I know, the religions also tell them to kill. But don't you see how that's necessary to get people to defend themselves? SAY not to kill. But leave an out in case you have to.

I think only the Muslims would be better off without their religion.

I've never heard anyone say any of those things were moral. But what is is loving others the same way you do yourself, not stealing, not committing adultery, honoring one's parents, not coveting anything that belongs to someone else, children obeying their parents and so on. These are the things that not did come from the secular or Godless mind but are written in the Bible.

How many see that sentence as a lie?
confucius (a man made that concept)
    egyptian

    here is a reference;

Behold, I am come unto thee. I have brought thee truth; I have done away with sin for thee. I have not sinned against anyone. I have not mistreated people. I have not done evil instead of righteousness . . . I have not reviled the God. I have not laid violent hands on an orphan. I have not done what the God abominates . . . I have not killed; I have not turned anyone over to a killer. I have not caused anyone’s suffering . . . I have not copulated (illicitly); I have not been unchaste. I have not increased nor diminished the measure, I have not diminished the palm; I have not encroached upon the fields. I have not added to the balance weights; I have not tempered with the plumb bob of the balance. I have not taken milk from a child’s mouth; I have not driven small cattle from their herbage… I have not stopped (the flow of) water in its seasons; I have not built a dam against flowing water. I have not quenched a fire in its time . . . I have not kept cattle away from the God’s property. I have not blocked the God at his processions

Concerned with the principles of right and wrong behavior and the goodness or badness of human character.

    Any other questions?

As for morality in religion, try lack of HIV/AIDS in groups that follow the major religion's rules.
Will that do for a starter?

How do you know that I have?

And how do you know it was not the other way around? Remember, it was Joseph whom was second after Pharaoh that had great influence over Egypt. Joseph had the power to make laws or decree just like Pharaoh did. Do think that after the famine was over that Joseph did not have anything to do with creating some laws, after all it him why the Egyptians were saved from starvation. Do you think that the men of God before the sons of Jacob became a Nation that they were not living by some aspect of Ten Commandment?

There is at least one example in the Bible of a pagan Nation changing its law to that of the House of Israel and that Nation was the Babylonian under Nebuchadnezzar.

    Daniel 3:19-30 (GW)
19 Nebuchadnezzar was so filled with anger toward Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego that his face turned red. He ordered that the furnace should be heated seven times hotter than normal.
20 He told some soldiers from his army to tie up Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego so that they could be thrown into the blazing furnace.
21 Then the three men were thrown into the blazing furnace. They were wearing their clothes, hats, and other clothing.
22 The king's order was so urgent and the furnace was so extremely hot that the men who carried Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego were killed by the flames from the fire.
23 So these three men—Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego—fell into the blazing furnace. They were still tied up.
24 Then Nebuchadnezzar was startled. He sprang to his feet. He asked his advisers, “Didn't we throw three men into the fire?” “That's true, Your Majesty,” they answered.
25 The king replied, “But look, I see four men. They're untied, walking in the middle of the fire, and unharmed. The fourth one looks like a son of the gods.”
26 Then Nebuchadnezzar went to the door of the blazing furnace and said, “Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego—servants of the Most High God—come out here.” Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego came out of the fire.
27 The king's satraps, governors, mayors, and advisers gathered around the three men. They saw that the fire had not harmed their bodies. The hair on their heads wasn't singed, their clothes weren't burned, and they didn't smell of smoke.
28 Nebuchadnezzar said, “Praise the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. He sent his angel and saved his servants, who trusted him. They disobeyed the king and risked their lives so that they would not have to honor or worship any god except their own God.
29 So I order that people from every province, nation, or language who say anything slanderous about the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego will be torn limb from limb. Their houses will be turned into piles of rubble. No other god can rescue like this.”
30 Then the king promoted Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego to higher positions in the province of Babylon.

Many people have trouble following me because I talk about theory but make my decisions based on reality where applicable.

Islam is, theoretically, totally similar to the other religions. In practice/reality, however, most Muslims are nothing but trouble who will kill over criticism of their religion. Unacceptable, and they will be crushed for it.

    I am a witness.

i dont need anyone to tell me, what a LIAR is doing, as i can WITNESS, personally, equally and of human capability.

No one needs to be a god to judge a lie.

in which egyption archeology does that BULL sh't prove itself.

again..... show us all, within egyptian works, not from punk liars of beliefs

babilu means; gate of the god

    jerusalem is babylon

    and WILL BE DESTROYED!

    biblically speaking, of course!

Interesting version of the bible because Babylon ('Gate of god') is some miles in the South of Bagdad - Jerusalem ('City of the west') is some miles in the west of Tel Aviv.

    what city is the 'gate'

To zionist, there is only one place for the holy of holies, on the whole earth; the gate. (sites at the dome of the rock)

kind of like; 'we're oppressing millions in palestine, but hitler did that'
tel aviv is the capital of israel, per the majority on the earth, right?

    Jerusalem has the gate

The bigots are already trying to cause issues at the dome.

You must not know the literature enough to realize, it's been basstadized.

    Really, most Muslims hey?

Hmm... Did that come from the latest riots about that video. You know that (assuming 10 000 people rioted, if that) approximately 0.0000625% of the entire Muslim population on this reacted violently protested about that video.

Did that lead you to the conclusion that "most Muslims are nothing but trouble who will kill over criticism of their religion"?

And you are willing to "crush" nearly 2 billion people because of the actions of 0.0000625% of their population.

Did you hear how the Libyans reacted to the killings of the Americans? Counter protests and stormed an al-Qaida affiliated rebel groups headquarters. The ones believed responsible for the killing. Not to mention the arrests made. And the killing had little to do with the movie, other than they used the protest as cover.

You have a lot to learn before you go around "crushing" us.

"Gate of god" is the translation of "babylon".

"City in/of the West" is the translation of "Jerusalem"

Why do you have problems with this expressions? And what has this to do with the Arabs? Oh by the way. Just today I heard Mohamed has written somewhere in his book "Quran" that Jews should go one day in their homeland because this is the will of god. Question: Was Mohamed a zionist?

How can you be so obtuse as to not recognize that millions and millions of people from cultures that hadn't ever heard of the bible came up with these same "moral" concepts.

How do you know that their ancestors were not influenced in some way by ancient Israel? After all, the House of Israel at its best had the Queen of Sheba leaving her kingdom to go and see if all that she had heard about them if it was true, and she saw that she did not even hear half of it. God wanted the House of Israel to be a beacon of light for all Nations of the Earth, which for a little moment was.

But it’s interesting though that of all the Nations of the Earth that worshiped pagan gods it was only the true God who gave the commandments on how people are to treat each other. Back then there were no atheist.......you either were a pagan or believed in the God of Israel, and the pagans had a habit of human sacrifice and sex rites(which the true God did not alow) that they performed for their gods.

The crushing will continue unabated until Muslims have the moral courage to remove the kill gays, the mis-treatment of women, the hatred of Jews, the hatred of Christians, the hatred of atheists, the hatred period, from their texts. Until then, Islam will be forever crushed.

    words transcend time.

ancient written works affect us all
    like matt 16:20

light: electromagnetic (the perfect cross), knowledge enables all, when its truth. That house of knowledge is the per se 'sion' (zion), the world of 'words' is adding to.

    true 'god'

the commands are egyptian. They had them on stone tablets at each city entrance, before any moses was even thought of.

back then, god(s) sat on throwns..

    what is confucinism?

egypt began the monotheistic 'god' and three religions were born of it; jusdaism, christianity and islam but on the other side of the mountains, 'god' was not of any sissyville.
