Unemployment was 7.8% when Obama took over. It's 7.9% now.

If lower prices are signs of a bad economy, then this economy is a disaster.

Neither Bush or Obama were responsible for the housing collapse so yes, it isn't necessarily fair to blame either. What can be brought to attention is the economic policies of Obama that have kept the employment rate at a virtual flat line after about March of 2010 when it hit bottom.

Obama said he would fix it. He didn't. That's being honest.

I don't think you realize what it takes to enact a Constitutional Amendment.

For example, the Equal Rights Amendment was first introduced in 1923. It was finally passed by Congress in 1972 and given 7 years to be passed by 3/4's of the States. In 1977, with 35 States ratifying the Amendment (they needed thirty-eight) Congress extended the time limit to 1982. No more States ratified the Amendment and it subsequently died.

So, Charlie, do you REALLY think that, given the divisions in the U.S., that your proposed Amendment could be enacted in four years?

I noticed this, too... but that rule is only enforced for conservatives. Liberals are free to do as they wish.

Four years, two with complete control of the Federal Government, 7 trillion dollars and it still isn't fixed. At what point would you fire the guy that you hired to fix your car? After two weeks? After a $500 cost overrun?

Some people cannot fix some things no matter how much time and money you give them.

True, but in 4 years and almost 6 trillion more in debt, we aren't in much better shape than we were. If he makes 12 million more illegals, citizens, how much more will that add to the unemployment numbers?

The failed policies that got us here was mostly NAFTA, Free Trade and the housing industry. The Democrats are just as responsible as Republicans are getting us involved in those.

LOL. Kennedy can hardly be considered "the best president" except by people who were taken in by his youth and charm. No major poll has him ranked above 6th best, and he usually ranks in the teens.

The last president that served more than two terms was FDR, who himself expressed admiration for other "icons of democracy" like Mussolini.

I'll go along with some of the other posters and say 1 term for 6 years, and then move on. Would avoid the absolutely ridiculous farce that we've witnessed the last few months leading up to Tuesday.

FWIW, the Wikipedia entry aggregates Obama as 14th best (in a tie with James Monroe), and Kennedy at 11th.
#1 is, of course, the great man himself, Abraham Lincoln - truly the greatest President this country has ever had!

That was all caused by 30 years of supply side economics.
