Smartie's 2013 Bar & Grill #50

The flu shot doesn't prevent against all strains, however they say it does indeed limit the symptoms of the flu. This is important to the elderly and children, who have a lesser chance of dying if they take the flu shot since it is universally effective to a minimum.

Some good news is that if you are sickened by all the different strains, you build up a natural immunity against the flu for the rest of the season. That is after several weeks and possibly months of suffering and pain.

I am still running and working out. Afraid to give it up! Daughter is doing pretty good. Counting down the months til she gets to come home permanently. I believe she misses the good ol' USofA.
She got to come home for a little while at Christmas time and it was really great to get to see her. I think she's getting a little nervous about what she's going to do for work when she comes home. Hope it's something that doesn't take her half way around the world. Unless it's Paris. I'd go visit her for sure in Paris.

I would love to go to Texas. I would love to see the collection. I am in a "Cloudy in the West" mood. I love that book.

 

Well, I'm kind of back. I actually got internet back though, about two or three weeks ago. It's gotten cold again. It was just over 60 Fahrenheit two days ago. Now, we apparently have a windchill advisory. You got to love winter.

Also, while it probably isn't true to Texas, I found out I love Texas Whoppers the past few months, though I'm still tied up on if Angry Whoppers are better or not. Man, I love spicy food. (I also like adding Frank's Hot Buffalo hot sauce and Heinz's Tabasco ketchup to stuff.)

 

Whatta day to have to make this one. Josey shows up... Indy checks back in... and then there are all my other favorite people. This is a hard one folks. Might as well get right to the point.

I've been offered and have accepted a staff position on another forum. Therefore, I won't be starting a bar #51 here. So many mixed emotions about this one... but it feels like it's time for some new challenges and this is a big one for me.

I'll continue to post here occasionally since it's still one of my fav forums, and I'll hope you'll come visit me, too. Just remember you can always find me by googling Smarties Bar & Grill... 'cuz whereever I am, there'll always be a bar closeby.

Good morning all. I know that I haven't been around much since I got out of the hospital. Well I guess that I still have a lot to do since my stroke. I have to learn to do a few simple things like walk, talk, use my left arm and hand and swallow like a normal person again. The things that we do with out thinking about and take for granted. I'll try to stay in touch but my physical therapy has to come first. This one finger hunt and peck typing is for the birds. so please forgive me if I am not around to much.

 

The ole one finger hunt and peck typing IS therapy, darlin, so don' t you be too quick to give it up!

You're right on about folks taking their health for granted. I'm just glad you're regaining yours.
