Yeah, I hope they don't go overboard on World War Z...

It has the potential to be a really good flick...

And, yeah, I don't remember exactly why they pulled the plug on the Zombieland sequel, but, I'm 100% with you on the Bill Murray scene...

Woody Harrelson was hysterical in that entire movie!

If they're done well, they can be good movies...

I will say that the market has been a bit oversaturated with them, but, there are very good ones...

    You know what!?

I'm also very much looking forward to Insidious Chapter 2...

The first one was fantastic, although the demon looked a bit cheesy when they finally showed him...

But, he went full tilt scary anyway...

They can certainly always find a new twist for an old story, like ..... Abraham Lincoln Vampire Killer

Which I have yet to watch.

I did indulge in Abraham Lincoln vs Zombies, and the words escape me at the moment to fully explain this film. Let's just say that out of the half hour or so I endured Mr. Lincoln found himself fighting side by side with John Wilkes Booth (who would have thought), and even more shockingly Teddy Roosevelt.

On insidious, I agree they should have not shown the demon or that stupid which lady or the stupid spirit world. I would have been perfect if they left it at just hints for your imagination to run wild with.

A friend of mine described Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter as not a good movie, but, highly entertaining...lol

    - - - Updated - - -

Yeah, I didn't really dig the lady doing the seance either...

But, the spirit world didn't bother me so much...

That scene with the random family was really creepy...

But, I guess, otherwise, it was pretty pointless...

I recently saw both "Abraham Lincoln;Vampire Hunter" & "Cabin In The Woods" and absolutely loved them both.
Also, just saw "Warm Bodies" last night & enjoyed it for what it was, more romantic comedy than horror flick.

They went overboard and then some with that movie. The only explanation I can think of, some 13 year old feel asleep in his American History class and upon awaking wrote that craziness. It was entertaining for a bit, but I couldn't make it all the way through.

The scene with the random family in Insidious wasn't bad, it was creepy. But the rest of the spirit world scene kind of ruined it for me.

Not yet, someone told me it was a shaky cam movie. Would you recommend it?

BTW, slightly off-topic.....the "Movie Zombie Profile"-

The four different types of movie zombies (Post-Romero '68 )

    1. Slow and dumb- "Night of the Living Dead"

    2. Slow and smart- "Bub" from "Day of the Dead", "Land of the Dead"

    3. Fast and dumb- "28 Days Later" (Yes technically they weren't zombies), 2004 "Dawn of the Dead", most recent zombie flicks and apparently "World War Z"

    4. Fast and smart- "Return of the Living Dead" and its sequels. "Send more ambulances"

    The Alien series was great...

I'm about to buy the anthology too, since it's only $23.99 on Amazon...

That is a pretty sweet price for 4 movies, might have to pick it up.

I even liked Alien vs Predator which I had no expectations of liking.

I think they dumped the Zombieland 2 movie because they are going with a TV show.

"The Ring". A remake of the Japanese movie of the same name (except in Japanese). Of course, I think Naomi Watts is a babe-o-rooskie of the highest magnitude.

I'm with you on "The Ring", my man. Pretty spooky. And Naomi Watts didn't hurt the overall production value.

did you just respond to yourself? funking awesome.

I think The Ring remake was on par with the original. Asia as in Japan, China, South Korea ... have put out some really great horror flicks. Spain is another country I have seen put out some great horror films.

I liked "Alien vs. Predator" a lot also. I was expecting something akin to "Freddie vs. Jason" & was pleasantly surprised how good it was.

I've watched horror movies all my life (I'm 66 years old), and seen hundreds of them. One of the best, and probably the one that scared me the most was The Grudge (1). Grudge 2 and 3 were pretty nasty and disturbing too, but at least having weathered Grudge 1, I was already rather prepared for what was to come, as opposed to going into Grudge 1 without any preparation.
One part that really got me was when the woman was working in her office alone at night, and she looked at the security monitor and saw a door closing in a long hallway. She called the security guard and he came and checked it out. You could see him on the monitor. He opened the door and went inside. Then he came out, shrugged as if finding no one there, and walked away. Then after he left the scene, the same door opened and a black spot appeared on the floor of the hallway. The spot gradually got bigger (vertically) and became the black hair of a person. This was a young Japanese woman who was a ghost, who went around killing people.
Only downside was not showing more of the great, sexy body of Sarah Michelle Gellar (who was killed by the ghost in Grudge 2).

    agreed.

Anyone watch the American Horror Series? I just got done watching the second season. I liked both, but there where certain story lines in each I could have done without. Like the alien bit with Kit in the second season, which I thought was stupid and not thoroughly thought through or played out.
