If he continues to punch you and/or beats your head against concrete, then yes.

If you get yourself into a street fight and the person you are fighting with is kicking your butt. Are justified in pulling a gun and killing the person?

I already answered "yes". It would be different if it was a mutual fight, but at this time, the evidence does not tell me it was. Yes, GZ was following TM, but there is no indication that he intended for any encounter to become physical.

It depends whether or not you were in commission of a forcible felony.

In Zimmerman's case, there's no evidence at all that he committed a forcible felony against Martin. All of the evidence proves that Martin was in commission of a forcible felony against Zimmerman, which legally gives Zimmerman a right to shoot to stop the assault.

Would you answer the question without the George talking points??

If you get yourself into a street fight and the person you are fighting with is kicking your butt. Are justified in pulling a gun and killing the person?

    Thanks

If you clearly want to stop fighting, and you beg that person to stop beating you up, but they refuse, and you fear that they may kill you, yes, you could use deadly force. What you can't do is just pull out a gun and shoot them. You have to make it clear that you want to stop fighting. If that person refuses to stop beating you up, you could shoot.

Sorry but you nor I know all the details of how the fight started. If you're answer yes is an honest one, I'll accept it. However, based on the verbiage contain the question I asked,

If you get yourself into a street fight and the person you are fighting with is kicking your butt. Are justified in pulling a gun and killing the person?

It would make you far less of a man, in my opinion.

In that case you would most likely be charged with murder two as well.

    Thanks for playing

    No you wouldn't.

You don't have to sit there and let someone beat you to death, even if the fight started out as a mutual fight. Again, you can't just shoot them, you have to make it clear that you want them to stop beating you up. If they continue to beat the crap out of you despite your plea for them to stop, you can shoot them.

We have GZ's testimony that TM attacked him. Without any evidence to prove otherwise, GZ's testimony is paramount.

I would agree if the many versions of that night George has told weren't full of inconsistencies.

I'm of the opinion that we all have to wait to learn all of the facts until this goes one to trial. IMHO, George's testimony is self serving and it should be. This being the case his honesty must be questioned.

It is also my opinion that George would be in far better position to beat this wrap if would have not been such a media prostitute. His brother Robert Jr has picked up where he left off. BTW, and FYI, the SP has over charged this case. In no way is this a case of murder in any degree.

Really?? Self defense???? Nope! Stand your ground??? Nope!

You can count a charge of 2nd degree murder.

I can see you objecting to murder. But the second item? Wouldn't that cause some sort of liberal paradox in the space time continuum?
