I beleive the Tea Party is strongly tied to racism.

If Duke is such a nothing, why did you defend him, demand 'evidence' he really was racist and anti-Semitic? And then when you felt pissy because you'd been clobbered with a ton of evidence, your response was put up a strike back at the blacks post? That is what it was, and there's no excuse for it.

 

I hated to put people on 'ignore', but the distortion and hatred coming so strongly and frequently from the SAME people was annoying. And I don't want to become what I'm fighting against.

I think it's time for me to find another forum. If I have to put 30+ people on 'ignore' to filter the lies and hatred... I'm pretty sure I need to go elsewhere.

I like this site, but the experiences here are so negative as to NOT be worth the effort anymore.

 

If you think this one is bad you should try some I have been on in the past. These folks on here are like puppy dogs compared to some of the others. But just the same, you are right. Hatred fuels willful ignorance for some on here, and no matter what facts you put in front of them, their hatred is so powerful, that they will never see the light of day. I say this with all seriousness, that some on here have adopted cult like attitudes of hatred, they just can't escape from. These forums really are a waste of time when you have a crowd like that trying to debate topics. This IRS scandal to me was the nail in the coffin for proving just how much hate they have. It turned out to be the biggest joke, but they were totally in a trance with it thinking they had gotten Obama. That's all they care about. They would just as soon abandon and put on hold their own interests to bury this guy six foot under. I've never seen anything like it. It's a lynch mob just waiting and praying to pounce. They are absolutely pathetic.

The best you and I could probably do is be pro active in fighting for what we believe in out in the field, rather than arguing with hateful people, who couldn't have a logical debate if they had to. Very few things they say or claim make little to no sense anyway. And so much of what they say are just flat out lies. So, whatever you decide it's been nice having someone on here who can talk with intellect and sense. You have a good heart. And that will always win out over the evil. No matter what forum you are on, you will be the one who will always leave the positive mark. No matter how bad it looks. Good luck if you decide to leave.

There were plenty of working class / middle class SHARPS in their late teens and twenties at the time. Since the greatest joy SHARPs had was getting into fights with racist skinheads, I got quite a bit of exposure to the nasty (Nazi?) side of White Nationalism. Why else would racist skins have had red bootlaces to honor racist skinheads who had killed or hospitalized someone (the usual bootlace color was white, of course)?

As for the quote, there are numerous variations of it floating around. Try nit-picking something that actually matters.

 

You give those people way too much individual credit. They represent who pays them. ANonymity has its advantages for advertisers.

They're posts are like interactive campaign commercials.They always want you to know how average they are and how they represent what 'all good Americans' trust. They'll characterize any opposition to what they say as people and lifestyles their target audience doesnt trust.
They use participation to support their negative advertising and if it doesn't work they try to get you to go elsewhere.

I have a lot more than 30 on ignore but I use it for a different reason. It helps me keep track of all the different account names that pop up who use certain methods of arguing. I don't catch most of the posts here by a long shot but there's only maybe about 2 active posters that I actually always ignore.

I know the internet is important but I cant get energized about opposing people I can't see anymore. Just to toss this out there, if you don't ignore and turn the TV off when the commercial comes on and still want to spend time here, maybe a really good way to balance out forums like this would be an onslaught of Citizens United, Koch bros (and their many 'social welfare' groups) ALEC etc threads and shoot for the saucy title

Johnny, I have been on discussion channels for about 12 years, mostly on The History Channel. In all that time I have only put one person on ignore. It sure isn't because I agree with everyone. I have disagreed not only with Democrats, but many times with my own fellow Republicans. I have discovered in that time that many get on here to argue. They love to do that. Others are so tied to Party, that they can't see any other view. Then you have those just not up on what is, or has happened over time, so they just repeat what they hear or what they think, which is usually wrong. Like only being 10 voter fraud since 2004. I know it gets frustrating dealing with it all, but that's what you get on any discussion channel. People are the same all over. I'd advise you to just suck it up and live with it rather than putting many on ignore. I would rather better inform those that either lie or say something that isn't true and back it up with truth. Unless of course your only giving an opinion.

As for the Tea Party being strongly tied to racism, I doubt that very much. That's not saying there are no racist in the Tea Party. You have that 10% in almost everything. But 2-3 times I have posted signs put up by a left leaning on line news paper, that said was the ten worst Tea Party signs and only one could be considered racist. Most dealt with taxes and the economy and Obama policy. I think ever since Obama has been elected, many on the Left see racism in almost everything.

 

So um... you think there are posters here paid to post what they post? Who is paying them? The Koch brothers? George Soros? Oops, I'm sorry, I'm sure the only paid posters are right of center, correct?

 

While I do agree that most leftists spewing hatred on a daily basis look like asses, there are still some that look and act more like their political symbol...the donkey.

They won't get anywhere with their evil, but they fool themselves into 'thinking' they will.

 

I've been at it for even longer. I admit this site isn't as bad as the "Klan" one I used to visit (15 or so years ago), but it's the same kind of sentiment flowing around that I saw there.

 

Good for you! Remember, a mouth piece that cannot back anything up with facts, and who only uses misinformation,hate, and accusations, will be long forgotten before the one who can. You have that on your side. The real facts and truth and who told it, won't be forgotten.
