The Tulsa race riot was a large-scale racially motivated conflict, May 31 - June 1, 1921, between the white and black communities of Tulsa, Oklahoma, in which the wealthiest African-American community in the United States, the Greenwood District also known as 'The Negro Wall St' was burned to the ground. Aerial fire bombing of black residential neighborhoods was reported. During the 16 hours of the assault, over 800 people were admitted to local hospitals with injuries, more than 6,000 Greenwood residents were arrested and detained at three local facilities. An estimated 10,000 were left homeless, and 35 city blocks composed of 1,256 residences were destroyed by fire. The official count of the dead by the Oklahoma Department of Vital Statistics was 36, but other estimates of black fatalities have been up to about 300. The events of the riot were omitted from local and state history; "The Tulsa race riot of 1921 was rarely mentioned in history books, classrooms or even in private. Blacks and whites alike grew into middle age unaware of what had taken place." In 1996, the state legislature commissioned a report, completed in 2001, to establish the historical record. It has approved some compensatory actions, such as scholarships for descendants of survivors, economic development of Greenwood, and a memorial park, dedicated in 2010, to the victims in Tulsa. Aww, is that the only thing that happens when racism hits blacks? They get denied civil rights? When black racism hits Whites, people get tortured, beaten, raped and murdered. This was one of the worst race riots in US history.. I think poverty and class envy was probably the causation. Sometimes extreme poverty turns both blacks and whites into rabid racists.

With 99.9% of the race riots here in America being insigated by blacks against WHITES (including MLK's sixties riots), and with people like you finding one example of perhaps one riot started by WHITES, and with the liberal media highlighting one example or made up examples of WHITE Tea Partier racism, and with the lib media refusing to acknowledge the high proportional black crime rates of rape and murder of WHITES etc.. etc...yet you still have the gall to insult our higher intelligence as WHITE humans in order to make the WHITE person out to be something of a lower form of homo sapien..akin to the black race? Were you alive during the struggle for Civil Rights? I used to wonder why black kids could fight in Vietnam but couldn't sit at a lunch counter or check into a motel or drink from certain drinking fountains.. And God knows, Jim Crowe was an economic albatross for the South.

The fact is race riots are a serious problem in America and in the UK... infact, anywhere where there are blacks living with any other race... and the overwhelming majority of the time it's blacks causing them over something extremely petty... just as we saw with the London riots last August. You posted this thread as a history lesson, to try and educate people... fair enough... but until you show some balance and a realistic outlook on racial conflicts, all you're educating us on is your own hypocrisy and anti-White bigotry. "Civil rights" I feel you have to earn civil rights and black "people" still haven't earned that right in the many decades since they've been given them. "White Guilt" keeps today's White people from identifying with the atrocities inflicted by their ancestors on the Black people in Tulsa(Black Wall Street.) It wasn't that long ago when you hink about it.
