then you'll need to stop letting infertile, geriatric and paralyzed heterosexual married couples receive marriage benefits.

Again. It's too costly to check all of them. It is not feasible. At best you have an argument for why certain heterosexuals should not receive benefits but you have no argument whatsoever as to why homosexuals should.

But I would agree. The less people getting benefits and subsidies the better as far as I'm concerned.

What is so costly about changing the law so that only married couples with children receive benefits? Eh, too much risk involved in alienating millions of married couples. Far easier for them to simply discriminate against gays and violate the constitution, eh?

no it isn't. make the couple get tested themselves.
of course I do. marriage is a civil right. that right comes with certain benefits and privileges. you need a valid constitutional justification to deny them their rights.
and I can understand that position. if you are going to use procreation as a justification to exclude same sex couples, you also have to exclude heterosexuals who can't procreate. otherwise it's unconstitutional discrimination.

Alec Baldwin: used gay slurs - not a peep from the left, until the right brought it up
Martin Bashir: nasty comments made directed at Sarah Palin - not a peep from the left, until the right brought it up (MSNBC didn't say anything - Bashir quit)
Phil Robertson: quoted the Bible and espoused his own beliefs - "OMGZ, a Conservative is utilizing his 1st amendment right!" - suspended by A&E as a result of Liberal's hatred for Conservatives

Meanwhile, no one on the Right called for the suspension or firing of any Left-wing, vitriolic talking head.

    Let's be realistic, here.

My wife puts it pretty simply...the only response for a family under attack is to rally and speak as one. The cast should all quit until everyone is reinstated. The longer they wait, the more the un-Americans win. If A&E want a series, support it. Instead they are angering the actual audience because a tiny minority of gay extremists, who do not watch the show, squeal....

The issue says more about A&E than family Duck. A&E would rather pander to folk who are PC but do not watch the show than to the actual audience.

Actually, I see cherry picking of comments (by you and HuffPo) to make Phil look bad and the Pope look good. The Pope's stance on abortion and homosexuality is the same as its' always been for the Catholic Church, so it's odd that you're still embracing this man who doesn't believe as you do about homosexuals and abortion.

Why are you talking about gay marriage at all? Phil didn't bring it up and I didn't bring it up. It suggests that what is natural is what is normal... and homosexuality is abnormal and contradictory to nature.

Get government out of the marriage license business, altogether.

The homo movement is such a fraud. First it was, " oh please don't hurt us" even though as a spoken or unspoken rule this was never the case. Now it's, " even if you dare mention that our conduct is perverted, we'll ruin you". The Duck Dynasty guy was right Constitutionally, right in conscience, and right in Christianity.

So where does homosexuality come into play? Male bonding does not equate to homosexuality.

No, you're actually a great asset on this board. I'm pleased to have level-headed thinking to contend with. You're right that the American Left is a false version of Liberalism, as classically defined in the dictionary.

Homosexual behavior was practically rampant in Ancient Greece. Ever heard the joke that the Greeks invented sex, but it took the Romans to introduce it to women?

Thank you for that compliment sir. I am glad I am not the only one to come to that conclusion regarding the American Left.

His free speech hasn't been violated. Nobody stopped him from saying what was on his mind. The part that you seem to take issue with, is that in the real world there are consequences for the things we say and do.

Why would A&E keep the guy around as a representative of their channel when he's publicly expressing views they don't agree with?

Isn't the right always saying that a business should be free to hire or fire anyone for whatever reason they see fit?

QUOTE=S L H;1063424056]Well Honey Boo Bo was also a hit just proves that you cannot underestimate the sheer ignorance of the Average American at large[/QUOTE]

I have to agree about "Honey Boo Boo", along with so much of the other mindless crap that's on American television. I have never watched it, "Survivor", or "Duck Dynasty".

That said, this is a country in which a judge has determined that a Denver baker MUST bake cakes for homosexual weddings, even though he expressly did NOT want to do this -- http://articles.chicagotribune.com/...dding-cake-masterpiece-cakeshop-charlie-craig. I'm waiting to hear what the Constitutional rationale is to justify FORCING this baker to participate in any way in what his holy scripture teaches is an abomination. Then exactly what justifies censuring Phil Robertson for expressing his personal beliefs about homosexuality in a venue that has no connection whatever to A&E? I know... I know... we could argue endlessly. But if you support this suppression and silencing of Robertson, please do this one thing:

The next time you relieve your bowels, stand up when you're done, turn around, and look at what you've just put in the toilet. Now, tell us all (or at least confront yourself with the truth) -- exactly what is alluring, erotic, or desirable about THAT?! That "stuff" you're looking at in the bottom of the toilet is exactly what covers the penis of a man who thrusts it up another man's rectum! NOW... that's fine if someone wants to enjoy homosexual "love" acts, or think that's appealing, sexy, or whatever. But it should not be forbidden for a person who thinks it is loathsome and disgusting to be forcibly silenced!

This kind of censorship and suppression is EXACTLY what the Nazis practiced when first confronting Christians they disagreed with! Later on, they just rounded them up and threw them in concentration camps, along with Jews, Gypsies, and, ironically enough, homosexuals. Tyranny, hypocrisy, and strong-arm tactics are not exlusive products of any political faction -- Left or Right. It's an "equal-opportunity" outrage against the freedom a person should have to believe what he wants to , and, to speak his own mind!

I believe in all their rights, marriage as well. But to say it's of the norm would not be correct. To them I believe it is, and that's fine, but certainly not to the human populace. I could be wrong if you show me something different, I would be interested. I agree it's normal to them, but not to the populace,,is that basically what you believe as well?

I was referring to Polynesia. However, now that you bring up Greece... some Historians argue that Greece and Rome both saw their declination after the introduction and active participation of homosexuality, which weakened them within, socially/culturally. It's no wonder that barbarians got the best of Rome, in the end.

I've never studied Roman history, but I feel confident in saying that's an assessment of history that doesn't account for the geopolitics of the time and is too narrowly focused to fully account for everything. To blame Rome's downfall on one issue is to discount the various things that happened. No one issue caused the downfall of Rome and I highly doubt that homosexuality played much if any of a role.
