    Check what exactly ?
It is not OK that the Gazan have been shooting tockets, artillary and mortar shells at Israeli citizens for 15 years now.
Those soldiers are there to stop it.

It's unfortunate for certain as they were there to stop terrorism but, considering that to you terrorism is legitimate resistance I don't expect you to be saddened at all.

Yes, no mention of the government, as I thought however I see where youre going. My original assertion about the IDF applies to the government as well. It does what it wants not what it has to. As for the IDF it has full operational control in all its affairs and therefore can escalate or de-escalate at will during a crisis or gin one up if it doesnt think government policy is going where it needs to. Where IDF generals are at odds with the government they are often willing to oppose executive policy when their is fragile support for government policy in the Knesset.

But lets be clear, in this crisis as in all others the government is pretending that whatever it does it is forced to do while in fact it is a choice they have made.

Yes I hear you, but on the matter of the 13 IDF dead, thats ok isnt it?

Also, is it terrorism to kill IDF?

Yes unfortunate, but ok right? I mean you wouldnt mark the Hamas fighters for special treatment for this would you? Surely its normal combat operations.

As for who's sad, of course Im not sad. Israel historically only respects extreme violence, so more IDF dead is ultimately a good thing.

Just as youre not saddened by 60 dead Palestinians wiped out today or the little boys on the beach etc etc.

Well it's not my fault you don't know your azz from a tea kettle. A government controls the entire nation from welfare and health to the military and space missions whereas the military controls .... well .... the military.

So the military is above the government so the Knesset doesn't have any say in any military matter, the IDF just goes out and declares war on it's own and makes peace treaties and such?

Yes, the government of the Palestinians in Gaza certainly, in Israel they have to respond to remove the threat immediately otherwise they would face a vote of no confidence and the government falls so unless they are gong to allow rockets to land all over Israel they have no choice but to act.

I said it's unfortunate you said it's ok.

We all know that, to you soldiers getting killed is OK.

And more terrorist is a good thing as well or a very sad thing?

I am. Why do you put words in my mouth?

Pay attention that to impose an "all around siege" on Gaza Israel needs the aid of Egypt. So technically Gaza is besieged [and so from a UN perspective, "occupied"] by Israel and Egypt.

    This was for accuracy.

You see, this is the kind of thing I really get angry about. Hamas and other antisemitic groups fire rockets killing innocent men women and children and nobody bats an eye or cares.

As soon as Israel acts to defend itself people get all kinds of nuts and upset over it and try to prevent ISrael from defending itself.

It's sad, really. And all kinds of hypocritical.

people should be after the terrorist groups that are the cause of all this nonsense and annihilate them to the man. That's the only way this conflict will be resolved.

Hamas and anybody who supports them is nothing more than a pack of animals.

The vast majority of Palestinians killed are civilians, including a lot women and children.
Only 13 Israelis are dead, but they're all military.

One has to ask who the terrorists are.

Judging by the going exchange rate between Palestinians and Israel, one Israeli soldier is worth one thousand Palestinians. Sounds to me, Palestinians so far are not getting their fair share of casualties...

What a moronic post. The recent crisis is not a result of Hamas lobbing rocket into Israel. Educate yourself:

This is what they do best. They are a murderous bunch, but their deception outweighs their murderous tendency.

No it is not terrorism to kill soldiers.
That is what they are there for, to kill and to be killed.
I'm saying that not only as someone who post on the internet, like many here, but also as a soldier who's seen and done his share.

Correct, however the terrorist goal is to kill as many innocent civilians as needed, The more horrific the more pain and blood that can be spilt the better. It does not matter to a terrorist, one person or a million or a billion and one~ innocents. The 'nothing is too awful' is why terrorism is evil, immoral and repugnant. War is nearly as bad, but not quite. It's that 'not quite' that is so very important making war if not moral, more ethical compared to terrorism.

show me 1 crime commited in opertaion Protective Edge.
and don't tell me dead kids, it's sad, but it's not intentional and it's not a crime. Kids were injured here aswell. 16 year old boy returning from his hair-cut was severley injured from a Grad missile landing 20 meters away from him.

that's not war crimes, those are casualties of war, sad casualties, yet casualties.
A kid was hurt here as well, didn't see a word about that.

Targeting civilian population is a war crime, which is what Hamas is doing. IDF is targeting missile storages located inside civilian building and IDF is warning civilians every time to stay away from a certain street or a certain place that is about to be bombed, with directions where to go in order to remain safe.

    As you wish

    http://www.bbc.com/news/world-middle-east-28468526

No weapons, no rockets, no terrorists.
Just families trying to find a safe place to stay.

Israeli forces dropped four shells on the United nations run shelter, murdering women and children.

Is that a war crime, or will you make some pointless excuse for mass murder?
I hope and prey for as many IDF deaths as possible, and a successful attack on the Israeli government, killing the lot.

    They deserve it.

theres an investigation over that, be sure that if we are responsible this will not go unpunished for those responsible.
Yet IDF clames that the shells that hit those school doesn't belong to them, and it's possibly Hamas shells that hit this school. Like I said theres an inverstigation.

And just so you know, every Hamas rocket fired is with the intention of causing that exact same thing mentioned in this article. Why won't you say they commit war crimes? why won't you admit they are terrorists?

    - - - Updated - - -

This war is no retaliation for the 3 dead teenagers. After the bodies were found Hamas begun firig rockets at Israel nonstop for like 3 days, 3 days that Israel stated "peace will be answered with peace" and did not strike back Hamas. Hamas wouldn't stop and Israel has to take a stand.

I heard Hamas doesn't even have the support of a lot of their former allies, like Egypt (when it was under Morsi) for instance. I could be wrong, but if true, thats a good sign.

I was a little surprised to hear that Qatar is one of the biggest allies of Hamas. Turkey (under erdogan) is obviously a strong supporter of Hamas. They still won't acknowledge the armenian genocide. Thats one of the few issues I have against my country Israel. Israel should have acknowledged the armenian genocide, it shows they made a bad choice in allies and now are paying for it. Its true, centuries ago, the turks were very kind to jews after the expulsion of european jews from spain, and welcomed jews into their country, so I understand the desire for loyalty, but you can't be allies with a country that committed a holocaust against the armenian people, especially since jews went through our own holocaust(s).

Hamas is the same as ISIS, they need to be wiped out. I saw a documentary about palestinian teenagers that actually hate living under Hamas so bad they take tramadol to numb the trauma of living under them. This is tragic. And if they get caught, one of them said his own brother would behead him.

What really strange is how so many progressives support Hamas, or at the very least claim they are simply a reaction to Israeli occupation, but palestinian gays flee the territories for Israel where homosexuality isn't a crime, they are put to death by Hamas and other radical islamic groups if caught in gay relationships, much like in Iran,, Saudi Arabia or Afghanistan in the past. Ive raised this point with gay advocates who identify as progressives, yet they still view Hamas and all palestinian muslims (who hate gays) as the underdog. Its bizarre. I wonder how Rachel Corrie felt about homosexuality and the treatment of gays by mainstream islam, including most palestinian muslims. That would have been an excellent question to ask her. I would have liked to contact her and ask her opinion on that, marijuana use and the brutal treatment of those who smoke pot), and other contradictions. Hamas had a drug burning bonfire when they came to power. I also want to contact some Israeli marxists who are anti-zionist and ask them how they feel about the palestinian jihadist groups like Hamas and their treatment of these issues, including homosexuality.

I'm not denying that orthodox/haredi israeli jews hate gays too, but they are not the subject (they also don't kill gays).

If you pound civilian infrastructure including schools and hospitals in one of the most high density populated places on the planet, then the issue relating to intentionality is moot. The analogy of the drunk driver driving at speed in a built up area close to a school is pertinent here. A drunk driver might claim that as a result of his reckless actions he didn't intend to kill children. However, such deaths under such circumstances are inevitable.
