Prostitution in the abstract: What is the harm?

Knowing some lawyers, the prostitute is a honourable job in comparison. Anyway, the reason why we generally see prostitutes as dishonourable, is basically because of a mix of christian bigotry, which followed illegality, confining them to the recesses of society. Before christianity being a courtesan wasn't a dishonourable job, there were even sacred practices related. In ancient greece and rome, to go with a prostitute was a common thing, expecially for boys and adult women.

 

Fact of the matter is, if you have your own mouth to feed, or if you have kids who have mouths to feed, consenting to sex is hardly consenting. Survival is not something you consent to.

 

So all employers are slave owners?

 

How do you know it doesn't 'increase' misogyny? Particularly for those men caught in madonna/whore psycho-nuttiness? Prostitutes are definitely targetted for violence from those men that project their disowned (hated) sexual feelings onto the prostitute.

To what end? Do men continue to go on being 'serviced' by a woman who is out of it or unwell? If yes, there's a problem. Empathy would see the man give her money then go away. But that's just me and how I see it. I see no 'dignity' for either side if a man 'gets serviced' by a woman who is out of it or unwell. That would be a SICK state of affairs.

Working at Mcdonalds does NOT carry the stigma of being a prostitute. Would you sooner introduce your sister as working at Mcdonalds or working as prostitute? Seriously.

First world countries with more liberal sex laws have dramatically lower rates of sexual violent crime. Encouraging them into mainstream jobs that don't carry the stigma and risks of prostitution. I've already stated I'd encourage any woman I came across who was thinking of prostitution to go into mainstream work instead of prostitution. I'd encourage them to study in some field of academic or creative interest. And I'm not dodging, it's just that you can't read and comprehend. I'd encourage study for you too.

I think porn and female " sluttiness " in films and videos increases misoginy. It gives the message they are sexual objects, and value men for their sexual prowess and power. A. Some people seem to be really desperate to get laid.
B. Complaints about hookers and their pimps come from customers who get ripped off or blackmailed and from the regular people trying to live in a neighborhood infested with hookers and pimps.

Women who make a living off sex, whether hookers or not, end up being laid off at a relatively early age with absolutely no hope of future employment.
