You get (*)(*)(*)(*) faced drunk, you make yourself vulnerable.

Drinking is not a crime, true. However we are stating undeniable and unchanging facts.

You can live in a "its a crime, so it won't happen to me!" utopia if you like, that doesn't really change reality in any way, shape of form.

Well, personal responsibility is a good idea, regardless of the situation.

If soldiers are prepared, why do they still die?

    Psychologists cannot fully explain it.

yes the desire to inflict power and control explains SOME rapists but not all. Especially predatory rapists. However date rape falls in a different category in terms of motive and is often about nothing more than sex while ignoring lack of consent.

Which is obviously a symptom of emotional instability. I have three boys and none of them would "date rape" (as if one rape is different than another to a survivor), or "ignore consent" just to get sex. They don't have a misfire in their brain, you see.

Would you or any of the men you know "date rape"--ignore consent--just so you could have sex?

I know quite a few who would. I work in a prison

Which is precisely why women need to take responsibility and protect themselves.

To put it simple: when you drink you lose control over your mind and your body. That means a woman could consciously or unconsciously give the impression that she wants to do it, and if the others are drunk too, then it's really impossible to estabilish if it's rape or not. Now it's time women take their responsibility, because you can't say you got raped if you were actually consensual. Anyway you should know before what you do, drinking too much always implies losing control to some extent, either men or women.

Actually that's classic LW projection of what RW's think. To say that a drunk person isn't as effective at protecting themself is not saying it's ok to rape a drunk person.

Actually, a lot of LWers think that a drunk woman can never consent to sex, so a drunk woman asking a man for sex and then him having it with her is considered rape.

How so? Caution and preparation does not ensure you survive an attack.

" Same WOMEN IS SLUT mentality, different decade! Sex is ALWAYS the women's fault. Having sex it's women's fault. Forced sex it's women's fault. No sex, it's women's fault.

Don't remember Fox saying any of that. While they did say women should be more responsible in their drinking could cut down on sexual assaults, I think that's very true. What your trying to make it sound like is way off base. It's like me saying it's her fault she got herself killed because she didn't wear her seat belt instead of meaning she could cut down her chances of getting killed by wearing a seat belt. But we know how you will try and find anything to cut down Fox, while you continue to follow the lying MSNBC.

No it doesn't. But it greatly enhances your chance of survival doesn't it?

Hasn't a female judge been quoted in this very thread saying that a woman's level of inebriation makes convicting her assailant difficult?

No it doesn't, but it increases your chances of survival, does it not?
