BTW, another one thought dead...but isn't......water fluoridation. I gabbed with a blogger who bought into the old "General Jack Ripper" "fluoridation is a poison installed by the Conspiracy" theory. He wouldn't fully commit though...and started to balk when I asked him how he avoided drinking water his entire life.
Any good military planner has a battle-staff that constantly creates and updates both offensive and defensive scenarios, and I'm sure that was true in Yamamoto's day also. It was already routinely practiced in the American Civil War. I'm equally certain that we have such theater scenarios for a nuclear war with Russia and China -- offensive and defensive, and on the basis of those the armed forces of all major nations also conduct large scale maneuvers, too. Nothing new there, Gorn. The "Rape of Nanking"...? Well, however Winnie and Frankie might have regarded that, it sure as hell didn't incline either of them to forgive the Boxer Rebellion debt that both the U. S. and Britain were raking in the penalties for in gold payments all during said "rape", with 4% interest! Whatever, neither the U. S. nor Britain felt strongly enough about the "rape" to declare a war on Japan. Like I said, they had much more important fish to fry -- like getting the U. S. stitched into Churchill's war with Hitler (at which he was getting his ass kicked off its backbone all through 1941). Hey, it's just a conspiracy theory, after all. Man! You liberal left-wingers really get your panties in a wad when somebody starts looking too hard at your demi-god -- the great Franklin Delano Roosevelt! You want another theory? If Roosevelt had kept us out of war, Hitler would have died of natural causes by about 1950. He was in terrible shape, barely able to make it through the day! Nazi Germany would have won the European War, but afterward it would have been broken out into a fairly loose, but rather prosperous association of independent nation--al-socialist states. The Germans would have had to cede territory to the Russians in the East, and they would have cemented a lasting co-prosperity sphere with Great Britain, who, oddly enough, Hitler had a fondness for -- except for Churchill and the War Party. The United States would have never heard a shot fired, because what motive would the Japanese have had to attack Pearl Harbor or any other American territory in the Pacific? We would have had a peaceful, mutually-beneficial relationship with everyone in Europe and Asia, and we would have been the de facto "owners" of the entire Western Hemisphere. The Great Depression would have ended eventually, probably after the United States finally rejected all the socialist, welfare crap that Frankie had contaminated our system with. It could have been a wonderful world, indeed -- on a lasting basis . Instead, now, in 2014, we have the rotten, ****ed-up mess we live with every stinking day. So, thanks, Winnie! Thanks, Frankie! And incidentally, an uncle of mine would probably have lived a fine, long, happy life if it hadn't been for you two bastards!
Just to be clear...and we're on the honor system....before I mentioned it, had you ever heard of the "Rape of Nanking"?
Yes, scout's honor -- I have heard, and actually read about the "rape of Nanking". I took two semesters of Chinese History at the University of Texas at Austin. The Japanese were brutal imperialists, largely because they paid close attention to the behavior of all the other imperialists' behavior in China in the fifty years before they decided to get in on the action, too. Lots of Europeans, and we Americans, too, of course. The Japanese didn't miss a trick.... Have you really never heard about any of the different conspiracy theories linking Frankie Roosevelt to the Japanese bombing of the Pacific Fleet at Pearl Harbor as direct retaliation for the United States and Britain slapping them with a total oil and steel embargo?
This is quite an interesting scenario, and forgive me for taking a tangent on the subject of this thread, but if everything would have gone this way do you think we would have nuclear power and/or the bomb in the world today?
Ok, my favorite conspiracy is infowars.com and Alex Jones. Tell me that he doesn't roll all of them up into one. He's got every single one covered. Am I wrong?
Also in conspiracy world there is Anti-semitism [!]. [and looking well, many conspiracy theories of the past was based on it or at least on similar conceptualization of "superiority" of something ....].
