They both didn't seem to mind the Patriot Act. One wants to take rights away from gun owners.. one wants to push an ideology of keep the right to marriage away from gay couples... They are more alike than people like to admit

watching cnn, they have been very bipartisan, but you can tell which anchors are dems for sure, but they have been very professional

can't say about for or msnbc, just assume they are being very partisan, so do not tune in

btw, they have Newt Gingrich on there too, so both sides are represented

Not switched. Democrats succumbed to overreach and hubris, & the people acted on behalf of the gods, punishing them for it.

Republicans will not have the nerve to do the right thing, which would be to impeach Obama for failing to follow the oath he swore -- to uphold the Constitution and faithfully execute the laws.

    Not much will change, sadly.

Well, kicking out the so-called "Dreamers" who are in the military or college graduates would be kind of dumb since the entire world is competing for those kinds of talents.

I'll admit they sometimes appear to me less like two differing political ideologies and more like those two tribes in the beginning of 2001: A Space Odyssey fighting over a waterhole but there's just enough differences to matter. Especially when it comes to Supreme Court nominees.

The fly in the ointment for you guys is executive power. Obama will certainly act on immigration, and that will shore-up the Hispanic vote even greater, which the GOP NEED to eat into if they are to win the WH in 2016.

And don't forget the victory for Dems - Repubs will not be able to repeal Obamacare, they will not be able to pass increased border controls without a path to citizenship, and they are powerless to do anything about the march of equal marriage, which they obviously care about more than their own constituents...

There are no practical winners from this, in reality.

I am hoping for a good two years with repubs winning, maybe we can get done needed things, they run 2\3 of government now, would suck for them if nothing got done beteween now and 2016

add to that, the President only has two more years and he would like to get some things done

I think both sides need to end the games and pass billls both sides can agree on, and I think both have motivations now to do that

Congress can no longer blame anything on Democrats unless Obama veto's a bill they try to pass, everything else is on them, they control Congress now, they are responsible for it, lets hope they get busy this next two years....

and if democrats don't vote for things they supported pre-republican win that is good for the public, I will pull my hair out - lol, I am tired of sides playing but they did it first, step up, show that your better than that

MSNBC is spinning this by saying the loss wasn't really Obama's fault, but rather Reids. Guess we know whose head is gonna roll now.

We have plenty of people in college and in the military. Why don't we just import the whole country of Mexico? Think of how many military and college graduates we'd have!

You realize you're 100% in agreement with progressive Democrats on "Dreamers", right?

This is how the left wins. They think of a position, they push hard for it, then Republicans adopt pieces of it over time until they are in complete agreement with it. By then, they are seen as "Johnny come latelys" and the left already has the voting bloc the Republicans hope to woo.

It's pathetic. This is why you lose.

i hope he does. he will continue to show the evil of the democratic party and turn even more of the populace against his agenda. he trys to push amnesty it will only cost the dems more of the black vote. amnesty is a no win for the democrats IMO.

Amnesty, what you call a path to citizenship, is extremely unpopular. Thats why obola, Boehner, Mcconnell, etc have pushed into the background until after this election. It amnesty passes under a GOP Congress, it will be the end of the GOP.

Yeah, violating the US Constitution is totally nothing. I'm not saying Obama is innocent in anything, I didn't vote for him and can't wait to see him out office, but I won't pretend to think the GOP is going to do people any favors either.

Honestly, I challange any GOP supporter here to name one thing that will be different in the next two years.

The president's agenda wasn't happening ANYWAY. Without either party reaching 60 Senate votes while controlling both the House of Reps and the WH, in this age of gridlock and partisanship, this kind of 'change' means almost nothing.

Considering most illegals are from Mexico wouldn't it stand to reason they are here by geographic convenience rather than being the best and brightest the world is competing for but who decided to choose America? Usually the best and brightest from around the world have no problem getting citizenship through the extensive paths to citizenship that America already has.

Actually most Americans support that, as a previous 67 majority vote in the Senate showed, with GOP House members refusing to canvass and acknowledge their constituents views.

    It's a winner.

It doesn't matter if they're from Mexico if they made the cut. We still have good universities and high military standards and they haven't (yet) watered them down... in most places anyway... for minorities.

you have to be realistic at some point and vote for people who are going to do the least amount of damage. i dont like the GOP all that much either but. i would rather have a cold than a full blown case of herpies.

How many times did you cry and whine about obstructionism? Do you know what a hypocrite is?

Did you also realize that the Republican House of Representatives passed 400 bills that Harry Reid and the Democrats refused to allow to have a Senate floor vote? Your party of fail was the obstructionists and the U.S. people just gave them a foot in the ass and kicked them out of power. You lose.
