At this point, pretty much anybody could beat Hillary. I've always giggled at the thought of a debate between Hillary and Jeb. Jeb would turn her to dirt not fit to be walked on. Chris, Rand, Ted.............all far better than Hillary and could easily beat her.

    Today.

Evidently, you missed Britt Hume's observation that the GOP ran better candidates this year. He's hardly the only RWer who noticed this.

And Obama is partly to blame for the shellacking that Democrats took yesterday. That's what happens when Democrats make bad picks that aren't good for America - the entire party gets slapped around the same way the GOP got slapped around 6 years ago...

Making excuses already? You? I am no Dem and all my votes did not go to Dems, awww, so sorry to confuse you, again. So you are admitting that if and or when your guys fail you will simply blame the Dems and Obama and become an openly Hypocritical Republican, good to know you will not try hiding it any longer, wasn't working anyway. Enjoy the next 24 months, it is not very long and if the GOP does not get real busy real fast the party will be over before ya know it.

It only took a majority 6 years to "get it" about BO....

Ahhh...the butthurtness from the left....even after we knew what was coming down the pike yesterday, you guys are just so beside yourselves with venom and vitriol.

I also find it quite funny that now the repubs have senate and house again, the dems and BO are calling for everyone to work together. Gee, where was that team spirit up to now? Lol.

    Dems are so wishy washy.

Actually, they're just setting up to do what they have done all along...blame the repubs the very second they don't get what they want.

The obstruction meme will be kept alive and well.

The problem is that Democrats are planning to take back the Senate and House in 2016 as well, so we wouldn't have the Repub/Dem combo that we had during the best years of the Clinton Administration. So she won't run on that. She'll pretend Dems were completely responsible for the good economy of the Clinton Admin.

Run a Bush against a Clinton and it is time for Texas to leave the Union because we will then have proof positive that this Nation is done and finished and there is no reason to support the Union another day longer. Unbelievable anyone would even suggest such complete and total nonsense.

It's unbelievable that Democrats would run another Clinton when the public has already said it has had enough Bushes and Clintons to last a life time.

Truthfully, I'm not terribly impressed with the presidential candidates that both parties are floating around right now. Hillary is waaaaaaaay overrated, but what difference does it make? ;)

By the way, will it be time for Illinois, Arkansas and New York to leave the Union if she gets nominated in 2016, or are you just reserving that silly notion for Republicans?

It really pisses me off when I read stuff like this. I want people to be elected because they are good, not because the other side is so bad.

Republicans don't have to work to get into office, they just sit back and let democrats (*)(*)(*)(*) up so bad that people elect the other party. That's not good. Politicians should have to prove they are good enough to be elected, not point to the other side and say how bad they are and that they shouldn't remain in office.

You end up with a "lesser of two evils" scenario.

Oh, you think things will be different now?

Does it really matter which one of the big parties is in charge? Spending won't really change, it will just go towards different programs, like an already inflated military budget. Patriot act isn't going away with either of these two parties in charge, because, you know, terrorism. They want big government just the same as the Dems, they just want to be the ones in charge of it.

Really? I seem to recall that the poll numbers were and still are even lower for the Congress. The American People simply want to get something done, that is why the Repubs managed a win.

I have no idea what "butthurtness" is, whatever it is keep to you private life, people here do not want to hear about your sex life, not that kinda site.

Silly I have predicted the Repub win for months, did not comes as in shock for me, even voted for a couple of Repubs, did you even bother to vote?

I have been calling for it for over six years and am still calling for it and the People called for it yesterday, the Reoubs best listen or the next 24 months are going to be over before ya know it and the party will come to a crashing end.

I am sure some are, pretty much like some Repubs.

The spot light will not be on the Dems, just so ya know, you might want t keep that in mind. Blaming the stalled government on the Senate was partly valid, trying to do that with the President will not fly with any other than the Party faithful and they believe anything they are told, sheep are easy to manipulate.

By the Repubs? Very possibly, especially if they have no real ideas and are not really interested in working in the Nations best interest, but as I said there is a cure for that in a short 24 months if the Repubs cannot show they can actually accomplish something.

Correct. Problem is if you change it so that candidates have to actually say what their ideas are and How they will accomplish implementing them most would not be able to get elected. They found out long ago that by simply painting the other guy as evil and saying you are against evil is all the masses needed to run out and vote for them, no real effort involved, no ideas and no plans, some simple rhetoric is all one needs.

That you better hope she is the DNC candidate and that the GOP is not stupid enough to run Cruz.

The last sets of candidate were Major disappointments and this next election is not shaping up to be any better. Getting real sick of the same old rejects and unacceptable alternatives.
I am not a Republican nor am I a Democrat, but I would suggest that any state should be free to leave if we reach the point I suggested, the sooner we rip off the band aide the sooner it will heal. Personally I believe that will come about soon enough no matter what, this Nation lost it's way many years back and at this point I am very doubtful that it can be reversed any longer. I doubt many even want it reversed.

The absolute shellacking the Democrats received came as a surprise to many people.

To some, it has clearly come as an absolute shock. It was only a month or two ago that the liberals on this forum were submitting posts like the following gem:

Barack Obama, Joe Biden, Harry Reid, Wasserman Schultz etc. certainly all predicted the Democrats would hold the senate. I take it they haven't kept up with current events?

Those were far and very few between, and we both know that. Nice try though, maybe next time.
For me the result came out just about where I predicted they would. Should be an interesting 24 months, the GOP better get busy the ball is now in their court and missing it will be a very bad mistake.

funny, most analysts believe this is GOOD for Hillary's chances in 2016.

now that the GOP has some major power, they have to show some results.

they simply can't just say "NO!!" anymore.

now they actually have to get some legislation passed.

they have to put some bills on Obama's desk that he can sign.

they have to focus on America now, not just defeating Obama in 2012.

can they do it? its hard to teach an old dog new tricks, and the GOP is a very old puppy.

The House has passed hundreds of pieces of legislation that were not even brought up for a vote in the Senate thanks to Harry Reid. This "do nothing congress" meme on the left is based on ignorance. Republicans can now just give those hundreds of bills another shot and Obama can veto them all he likes, which will reveal who the real obstructionists have been in Government.

Don't get me wrong, I personally think Hillary stinks. It's up to you boys to nominate somebody who stinks less. Therein lies your dilemma. Jeb stinks out loud and Ted smells like arse. They could be two people who could get me to LOVE Hillary.

I welcome the upcoming GOP Congress. Let's see if it's going to be the fantastic journey that they GOP is claiming, and not a useless, scandal ridden mess.

They obviously didn't blame them enough, as last night demonstrated.

if the shutdown was two months ago, yesterday's results would have been very different.

that's why Boehner approved an unconditional 2-year extension of the debt ceiling. :)
